Introduction: I have a Master's Degree in music theory and composition from the University of Toronto, have taught all ages and skill levels for the last 40 years (some of whom have become competition winners and/or professional musicians), am myself a globally recognized and active concertizing classical and jazz artist, and am a published author and composer. Sharing the gift of music with a student of any age is always deeply rewarding, especially when we have both met that student's goals and those skills can be brought along on the rest of life's journey. Music is known to be the only activity that exercises every aspect of the human brain, and it is no secret how music helps children excel in math, science and other disciplines. Finally music teaches one to strive for excellence, which translates into every other facet of life. ********************************************************************************************** INTERESTING NOTE FOR OLDER ADULTS: Researchers have found that playing any instrument for 10 or more years was correlated with better memory in advanced age compared to those who played music for less than 10 years (or not at all). Other research shows that even listening to music can help boost your brainpower. A study from the Stanford University School of Medicine found that listening to baroque music (Vivaldi, Bach) leads to changes in the brain that help with attention and storing events into memory.

My first introduction to Joe Natoli was through the Roland V-Accordion forum where I was able to view his performances playing the accordion. I was very impressed at how incredibly gifted he is as a musician. I learned later that his talents extend to writing and arranging as well. When I contacted him to congratulate him on his pieces, I was struck by his humility, and how approachable he was. As it turned out, I was able to connect via Skype and Joe helped me get started on my Roland SonicCell, making sure the midi connections, and settings were proper. He suggested ways to improve the blending of the sounds. And all this was done remotely as we live half a continent apart. Joe cares deeply about the music, and gives his time generously in support of those pursuing their dreams. While I have not had a music lesson for many years, I feel the rates are reasonable especially considering the talent, educational credentials and calibre of Joe Natoli. I am honoured to provide a testimonial for Joe and wish him the very best in whatever his endeavours.

I have been working through Joes' music lessons for adults book number one now for some weeks. It is clearly written, doesn't talk down to me or over my head is OBVIOUSLY for adults as opposed to children which makes learning accordion much better for an adult.AND the man has gone out of his way online to help me when I am stuck or looking for extra material within my skill limits etc.Any product from Joe is safe, trustworthy, and reliable as the man himself is the same. You get great teaching from a person who has both the talent to play like a master AND the ability to communicate clearly what he teaches. When volume 2 of the book comes out? I have been helped by volume one so much I have already preordered it :)

Teacher, performer, composer, arranger, Joe Natoli, who I have never met except through emails, Yahoo groups, Face Book and You Tube is all these things. My interest was first peaked by an arrangement and performance of Danny Boy that he arranged and played for a Yahoo Accordion Group years ago. The harmonies are sophisticated and strikingly beautiful. Other equally beautiful arrangements and performances followed. There was Somewhere over the Rainbow, The Christmas Song, Flight of the Angels, Carnival of Venice and many many more and all are to be found and enjoyed on You Tube. Take a tour! When something in his music struck me as novel and interesting, Joe would kindly explain it to me. I think he excels in each category: teacher , arranger, composer and arranger. If you need any of these skills, seek them in the Modern Conservatory of Music.

I have taken numerous lessons with Joe via Skype. His technology is perfect so that the Skype lessons are the same as if in person with the added benefit of being able to record them. He has a tremendous ability to interpret and meet your needs, is very clear, and beyond knowledgeable. He is generous with his time and has maintained a positive and meaningful dialogue via telephone and email beyond the lessons. You can see his performance on the accordion all over You Tube. It is outstanding. We have approached mostly Roland accordion work, but also basic technique and some material on acoustic as well. I would give the highest recommendation for Joe Natoli as a teacher, arranger and performer. You cannot go wrong. It does not get better than this.

I met Joe last year in Dallas during an Accordion Convention. He was representing the Roland V Accordions right after the death of their US rep. It was not easy, but he performed his duties in a very professional way. He even helped organize a beautiful memorial for his friend Ron Lankford. Since I was new to this Accordion my main purpose in attending this convention was to meet with Ron. I was surprised and happy that Joe was able to fill in so well. Even after this meeting he has continued to be helpful, even-thou he is doing it on his own and not because he has worked for Roland.
