Sharon was contracted by our company initially to translate the information displayed to our customers accessing products and assets from our hardware devices as well as to translate the information displayed to our customers who administer and manage those devices, products and assets through our Web UI interfaces. These were highly technical translation projects requiring not only strong technical and communication skills on Sharon's part to understand the requirements and design of our solutions, but also strong analytical and problem solving skills as she became a key member of our team to identify and diagnose possible bugs in the firmware and software which she was translating and then actively testing the Spanish translations in our deployed solutions. In addition to the software and firmware translation projects, Sharon exceeded expectations by ensuring that word choices for critical concepts were consistently documented in reusable project dictionaries and applied across all solution areas including, software and firmware, and technical and user documentation that accompany our solutions. She likewise ensured that the translations would be acceptable throughout geographically dispersed Latino regions including, South America, Central America, Puerto Rico and Caribbean islands, and Europe. This is NOT trivial. Sharon was further contracted by our company to translate sales and marketing collateral, case studies, and presentations for our solutions along with translating the corporate Web page for all of our solutions. Her unique mix of technical and business talents contributed significantly to our successful deployments of company solutions into Spanish-speaking regions worldwide. Sharon brings more than a casual approach to each translation project and applies strong personal motivation to ensure consistency across all of our company translation projects. She recognizes the difference between a 'global company' which considers the cultural mores and influences within countries, and a company who simply has a 'presence globally' which continues to push the cultural mores and influences of the 'host' company into countries. We found this insight to be particularly poignant and valuable as we were opening up new markets for our solutions where skills in assessing cultural expressions and translating intent in a way that is acceptable to the population you are addressing becomes even more important. As the hiring manager who oversaw most of the work that Sharon performed for our company, I give her my strongest endorsement!
