About this pro

How does your business stand out?

I believe in training the people to train their dog. It all starts with us. I use a variety of tools to do the foundation work with the dogs. I will discuss the different training techniques with you during your evaluation lesson. I use a pressure, release technique which uses a natural pressure point to create calm. One of the tools I use is created with a transitional leash method. The pressure point on the muzzle of the dog is genetically ingrained in dogs to calm down when pressure is applied. The conditioning is the most important part, this is the reason we do a 7-10 day board & train.I use it as a training tool, not as management. I also think its a great way to instill the human as leader in a calm manner. "It is the first conversation you are having with the dog" In the clients case, it would be the first conversation of the new improved relationship. I imagine the dogs are like "what ???You never made me do what you said before." I use it as a training tool, not as management. .

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I am very connected with the dogs I work with as well as the dogs boarding with me.Working with all different breeds is my passion. I also love that i can help the owners or family realize as long as they put the work in to the dog, at any age .. that dog can be their best friend for life.

Lisa and The Doggie Inn is the only place I trust my girl to. There was never a question where I would board Joplin if I went out of town. Joplin is a rescue that Lisa had boarding at her facility. She's committed to all dogs under her care and I wouldn't board with anyone else.

Lisa and her team at the Doggie Inn always take such great, loving care of my dogs when I am away. It's easy to see how much they love what they do, because the attention to detail and kind, dog loving smiles can always be found there. I recommend the Doggie Inn if you are looking for a high-quality boarding experience for your furry family members!

    Thank you Shane!

I needed to board my "special needs" pup who is very afraid of strangers. Lisa and crew did an amazing job accommodating his needs. By the time I picked him up he was buddy buddy with them :)

I know that Lu was in great hands when we brought her to stay while we went on vacation. Lu is a handful and Lisa didn't have a problem taking her on, she even came back a bit better behaved - which we thought would never happen! My favorite part was that Lisa posted photos and updates of all the doggies having fun so I felt even better and less guilty while I was having fun too!

It was my pleasure to have Lu here with Gunner.. I had a great time playing with them! Thank you for the kind review!

Our lives without Lisa would be much harder. Not only are we able to leave our girl with her at The Doggie Inn and know she is being impeccably taken care of, but she has helped both our dog and ourselves enjoy each other more through her thorough and thoughtful training. Our girl Maeby is a "challenge", and Lisa has given her (and us!) the skills we needed to work through her separation anxiety and wean her off medicine. She has empowered all of us and is ALWAYS there if we have a question or need a refresher lesson. The Doggie Inn is a gorgeous, well cared for facility that Maeby loves to visit. I highly recommend Lisa and The Doggie Inn for all your training and boarding needs.

What kind words. Thank you Sue Ellen and you know that Maeby is very at home here! She has come a long long way from the anxious girl that first stayed with me!

I have left Gunner with Lisa several times and I am always comfortable knowing that he is well taken care of. I have so much confidence in Lisa that I don't even mind the hour drive to her Doggie Inn in Grafton from my east side home. My last trip the end of June was punctuated with wonderful pictures of Gunner walking, running, playing. In a past visit, she taught Gunner to walk on the treadmill, which provides him with essential exercise when the weather is rainy or during winter months. I wouldn't consider boarding Gunner anywhere else.

Karren, Gunner has grown into a wonderful boy. He is very mindful and well behaved when he comes here to board. You did a wonderful job training him!

Lisa and the Doggie Inn are wonderful! I never worried about my rescued Rottweiler Baileigh when I would have to go out of town for work. She loved running around and I always enjoyed the pictures that Lisa would send to me as she had fun playing. I would recommend the Doggie Inn to everyone with a fur baby 🐶❤️

Thank you Lauren and I miss MISS B!!!! congratulations on your new life and I hope when you come in town you will stop by with the fur babies ..

We have two rescue puppies, about 9 months at the time we had them stay at The Doggie Inn. I was concerned about one of the pups. Nala is very shy and gets nervous around strangers and different noises. She even popped blood vessels in her eyes when she went to the vet. It was very comforting to us to leave her in a place that she has a chance to run and play. We received daily text messages with pictures letting us know how they were doing. Jackie joined in the fun after a day or two. Playing with other dogs and enjoying all the fun things dogs like to do. By day 5 Nala even started to join in the fun! When we picked them up on day 8, they were happy! You can tell they were very well taken care! I will not board my dogs anywhere else. I will highly recommend the The Doggie Inn!

Kathie, Most clients worry about their pups in first time boarding. I try to make the best experience possible for all my client pups. They are treated like my own. I remember going out of town long before I had The Doggie Inn, and I was terrible about leaving mine .. I said one day I will have a sanctuary that clients can come and leave their babies and know they will have a vacation of their own with me. Thank you for trusting me.

Outstanding training results in a remarkable amount of time. Very caring interactions with the pups and they flock to Lisa. That showed me that they love and respect her. I appreciate the one on one time to help me learn how to help me help my pup be successful. I would strongly recommend Lisa for board and training!

Megan was a pleasure to train. I thank you for trusting me with her!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is not about cost. If you love your dog and certainly want the best for the dog and your family, search for a good trainer that is expert in the area you need . There is a ton of resource out there and don't be against the tools in the tool box that the good dog trainer my want to introduce you to.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I believe the owners must be on board with the training process. Most of the time it is simple fixes and I can help them understand what to change and why it is happening simply with a few lessons. This keeps the dogs in their homes and out of the shelters!
