After taking the John Maxwell 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership training class, I feel more empowered to pursue, or accept, a role in leadership. Any training class is only as good as the trainer. Kenston Henderson taught the training class the way that I believe Mr. Maxwell would have taught the class himself. Mr. Henderson invited the class to think and act as leaders. We were challenged to think outside of ourselves and take in the entire picture. After each chapter we were challenged to incorporate what we learned into our work, as well as personal, lives. Mr. Henderson challenged us to look inside of ourselves and recognize our strengths and our limitations. He then challenged us further to recognize the strengths and limitations of those in our circle. Aristotle said that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” and Mr. Henderson taught the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership based on this principle. I left this training class knowing that leaders who have followers could easily end up just taking a walk if they do not incorporate these Laws.
