FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge hourly for investigative work. Several factors including fuel, food, toll roads, and hazardous conditions may play a part in my hourly rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do is an initial phone consultation. Perhaps the client has a need for a different service than they previously anticipated. For example, a client may call me thinking of needing a surveillance case, when in actuality they may need a background check. The initial phone consultation helps me guide the client in the proper direction. The second phase is typically the face-to-face consultation. At this time, I ask the client for as much information pertaining to their case as possible. The client will then sign a contract and pay a retainer prior to service of any investigation. The third phase is the actual investigation. Throughout the course of the investigation, I ask the client to maintain confidentiality (as do I). Nothing can be more detrimental to a case than the subject of the investigation becoming aware that he/she is being investigated. From time to time, the client may call me or I may call them just to briefly check in. The next phase is the not so glamorous part of my job- the report. Unless the client is against it, I always provide a written report of my investigation. Every report is written clearly, concisely, and in order in which events occurred. The final phase is the debrief. At this time, I verbally go over my findings with the client and answer any questions pertaining to my findings.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a United States Marine Corps veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan where I served as an infantryman. My experience as an infantryman has taught me how to be patient and how to manage being bored for long periods of time- great for surviving long surveillance cases! I was also a police officer for 8 years. I've learned a bulk of my investigative skills and techniques as a police officer.
