We proud that we are not one of the contractors who was a no-show for Chelsea . Chelsea had just posted today on a new request that 4 contractors did not call or show up for her estimates. Those kinds of companies are typically "lowball" estimators that we avoid completely. We always provide a legitimate first estimate with total figures and allow the customer to accept or reject , which we can break down in stages , (but doing things in stages increases the pricing. )There was never a need to break down the pricing for her since she desired another contractor we were told. We always present very simple straightforward first pricing, but Chelsea apparently doesn't like our simplistic format, but it was not a template. (We have no templates for pricing. ) Her project is a very involved bathroom two-story addition with specific design parameters. The pricing format was simple , the project is not, and therefore not considered steep , just expensive , intricate and labor-intensive. In 44 years of service to our community , many customers have selected our higher pricing and benefited and enjoyed working with us. Maybe Chelsea can't fully appreciate what it takes to become one of America's top 500 remodelers , which award we have already secured over 30 years ago. We wish her the best in finding a contractor that wants to work with her and will show up like we did, And full pricing within two weeks of our appointment as promised. Should Chelsea not be able to find a good fit for her demands , our estimate is still good for the project. Many of our customers have returned to do business with us after fully researching their project and realizing the full scope and cost to be fair and logical . It's what keeps us growing, our great customers !
We respond in timely way to all WRITTEN quotes. Chelsie contacted us Feb.8th & together we scheduled a Feb.20 appointment , which was promptly made on time as usual. We then informed her that 10-14 days( from Feb.20) is needed to assemble her quote. That 2 weeks is needed to check codes, permits & feasibility study for the Remodel work the customer desires. That way an accurate quote can be sent. So , this week , within the 14 day period following our Feb.20 appt. at her home, we send the quote. Might she have misunderstood our needed time of 10-14 days following the first appointment ? We actually have been working on Chelsie's quote, not delaying in anyway, in that time frame. We understand all Folks want their quote ASAP. Seeming delays, are just part of the quote process. Some take longer, some less-- but 10-14 days is common & acceptable to our industry. Especially , as we strive for accuracy with Chelsie's amongst all our quotes. It's still a privilege to quote work for her family and all our customers !
We simply told the truth. Some projects require immediate attention. We would do the same for Jessica, if her project required it. Contractors must make their best judgement in their inability to be in two places at once . We asked to reschedule and notified her by email & telephone call & text . What more can we do ? Next week is still open for our appt book. We offered that to her and still do . Our messages appear to be misinterpreted . Sorry , it happened that way . We built 10,000 customers , because we know how to handle many situations . Some get disappointed, others appreciate our efforts .
