On April 5, 2017, I reached out on Thumbtack to find a landscaper for our property. We had moved into a new home in January, and just had the standard “builder” type landscaping which we did not like. Within minutes of posting I was contacted by City Pro Services Ltd and we soon began chatting back and forth. City Pro Services is a family-owned business, with the entire family taking part in getting the job done. Andy and Julie set up a time to come and look at our property to see what we had, listened to what we saw as our vision, and made numerous recommendations as to what could work for us. As we worked out a plan they came and met with us a second time to offer more suggestions, and explained how everything would be done. Andy made sure that the plants we wanted would be appropriate for the areas we were going to landscape (sun vs. shade plants). By mid-May we finally settled on a workable plan along with pricing. These are some of the things they did for us: 1) Installation of new shrubs and perennials in front bed. 2) Installation of topsoil, river rocks, and mulch in front bed areas with 25-year weed barrier fabric. 3) New beds by the mailbox area and on other side of driveway, with topsoil, and river rocks splashing in some small perennials to accent. 4) Created a flower bed down the side of the house with hydrangeas, topsoil, and mulch. 5) Planted 4 trees. 6) Created a flower bed in back yard corner with some perennials. 7) Transplant existing plants from the front yard bed to the shed area. 8) Installed topsoil around shed for plants. 9) Installed mulch around shed areas. 10) Installed annuals in all beds on the entire property. 11) Installed river rock and ornamental grass around the outside air-conditioning unit. 12) Installed river rock drainage for the downspouts instead of concrete drains. 13) Installed small river rock for path going from back patio to shed entrance – included river rock and 25 year week barrier fabric. 14) Prepped lot for sod by tilling, cutting, and grading, as well as installing 28 yards of top soil. 15) We purchased sod for side yard areas, and they provided labor for installation. Also 25lbs of starter fertilizer for pre-sodding. It did take them a while to get us on the schedule, but that was only due to the weather and the fact that they had multiple other jobs going on. Once they started the job they often came in full-force with everyone in the family working hard to get the job done. I will tell you that with the bad soil that we have (very hard clay), they often had to work extra hard to accomplished with would have otherwise been fairly simple. Digging the holes for the 4 trees they planted was not an easy task! Because of our bad soil, Andy did everything he could to set us up for success with everything he planted. He created raised beds with prime topsoil, and used weed barrier fabric to help keep the weeds down. When we purchased our new home, we purchased the empty lot next to us which had not been developed. We had them prep and lay the sod on that lot. Again, with the soil being so bad, and full of rocks, Andy recommended that they prep the lot and cover it with quality top soil prior to laying the sod. It was a lot of hard work for them, but, again, they wanted to make sure that we were set up for success. It was a very large area, but they did a great job and it made everything look amazing. Our main requests upon first discussion, was telling them that we loved color and wanted low maintenance. Not only did City Pro Services “meet” our desires, but they “far exceeded” our expectations. Andy was responsive to our every need, was willing to make changes or additions without question, and made sure to educate us along the way as to what needed to be done to make sure that we are able to easily maintain everything they had done. One thing that I really appreciated about Andy, was that he would personally pick out the very best plants that he could. This was especially evident with the hydrangeas that he selected for the side of the house. They are “show stoppers” to be sure! Would I hire them again? You bet I would!! I’m sure that I will be calling them throughout the coming years to just do some maintenance and cleanup of whatever needs to be done for the next season. They are a hard-working family business, who aim to please, and are willing to work hard to get the job done. D. Scott
Blown away by the quality of work this company performed! They mowed my lawn, edged the sidewalks and driveway, mulched, trimmed shrubs, pressure washed the entire exterior of the house, and cleaned the entire interior in only a couple of days! Fast and reliable! Will definitely be using them again for any future work!
Extremely pleased with every aspect of the experience. Great response all through quote to completion of job. First sealing on new driveway - went above and beyond with an additional cost to meet their standards.
The crew sealed our asphalt driveway. They did an excellent job. Very neat. Will call them again when needed.
I had them replace a driveway for our new home. they were very quick to do the work which I wanted done as soon as possible. it was refreshing to have a group of guys who were professional, genuinely seemed to enjoy the work, took pride in their work, and for an honest rate. I didn't have to deal with all the big company type of distractions. I have already referred a couple of my neighbors.
Mid Ohio did several jobs for me. The first project was a shadowbox fence which turned out wonderful the dogs love being able to run around. Our second project was a 30 x 40 pole barn including insulation, electrical, concrete floor, and a driveway. Do to the amazing job Trent and his guys done we went ahead with a couple of smaller projects inside the house. The flooring in the living room, dining room, foyer, back hall, pantry, kitchen, half-bath, and laundry room were changed out to engineered flooring that my dogs have yet to scratch. After the floors both bathrooms were done including tiling the walls, flooring, putting in a shower, lowering a tub that the previous owner had built up so high that I needed a step stool to get into it, both vanities, light fixtures, toilets, mirrors, painting, and both exhaust fans. All the flooring looks absolutely amazing and what we wanted. Last but not least one of the most important things when remodeling is that they cleaned up the mess and I didn't have to clean anything when they left. These guys are great and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality job.
I received the best quote, they were able to do it asap as I requested it and the work quality is great. My neighbor snatched them up for their driveway resurface as well. Everyone is happy! I would recommend their services.
Exceptional job! Professional and personal. Would definitely recommend these people to anyone looking to have driveway work done.
If you are looking for the most bang for your buck then look no further. Paving solutions was amazing in every aspect of the job. The wife and I couldn’t be happier with our new driveway. I definitely feel we got more than expected.
I believe Brecks paving did a great job on installing a new asphalt driveway at my home. They worked hard and all the workers seemed interested in doing their best work. I found Carol very easy to work with and she was easy to get ahold of with questions I had. I am a little dissapointed with the driveway being kind of high off the ground and the job took three days to complete instead of one. That is why I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5. I would definitely recommend Breck's paving for quality work.
The job was for widening the driveway. The crew arrived on time and executed their duties as expected. Mr. Kelling's communication was honest and open.
We recently had Philip Evangelisti, of Sunny Ridge, complete a paver patio for our new home. I originally reached out through Thumbtack for someone to build a patio. Philip was the first of several contractors to respond to my request. My husband and I set up a time to meet with Philip to discuss our requirements. He arrived in a timely manner, and presented himself in a very professional manner. I already had a basic design in mind, so Philip worked off of that plan to finalize a drawing for us. He made numerous suggestions as to the best way to approach our project, as well as helping to guide us regarding what type of materials would best serve our purpose. After a couple of meetings with Philip and obtaining a quote for the work, we felt confident that he could take on the project and do a great job. Let me mention that we often like to hire entrepreneurs in order to help them get started in their business and allow them to hone in on their skills. With that desire in mind, we hired Philip to build our patio. Although he is a little young, he has quite a bit of experience and knowledge in numerous areas. Our faith in his skills indeed paid off. Philip worked with us throughout the entire project to make sure that we were informed about what, why, and how he was doing things. Since we were building a portion of our patio over the top of a concrete slab, it was necessary for him to make modifications in order to have one continuous flat patio upon completion. My husband and I shopped for the necessary supplies, and even had a couple of calls with him to make sure that what we were getting would work. (These calls were on a weekend, and while he was out of town, but he was more than happy to talk with us.) We set up delivery of our supplies, and Philip promptly got started on our project. He often hired his brother to help him with the job. The two of them worked hard, in the hot summer heat, and completed the patio in a timely manner. Philip knew what he was doing, he knew how to do it, and took great care each step of the way. I made a modification to the way we were going to have our steps, and Philip just took it in stride and worked with us to make it work. He even went with us to purchase the supplies and helped us figure out what we needed. We are EXTREMELY pleased with our patio, and have received numerous compliments about how beautiful it turned out. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of the completed project before we put everything on the patio, but I believe you will see just how awesome it looks from these pictures. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to hire Philip again if we would have any other project. I also would certainly recommend him to anyone that is looking to hire a contractor. His prices are more than fair, he often went above and beyond what was required, and he is willing to work hard to get the job done in a professional and timely manner. Debbie Scott
From our initial contact to job completion Baldwin Sealcoating did the job right from start to finish. Our driveway was a mess after last year's sealcoat job was incorrectly done with inferior coating products by another "professional" sealcoat contractor. After only one year our driveway looked ready to be torn out and replaced due to all the cracks and loose asphalt materials. Matt, Baldwin Sealcoating, knew what to do and explained why our driveway was in such poor shape. He filled the cracks with a special material and then applied their sealcoat product; not from a 5 gallon pale but from the 50 gallon tank on their truck. What can I say? Wish I had a photo of what it looked like before the job. But since I don't, I'll just post an after photo. Call them and see for yourself. Great price and great service. Don't be fooled by the others who charge almost double what Baldwin Sealcoating charged. Baldwin Sealcoating is highly recommended.
We have a paver driveway that had settled in a few areas. Roland spent several hours making things perfect. The cost was extremely reasonable. The A-listers from Angie's List blew us off till the fall. Roland came out immediately. We were very impressed with the service.
I had a 900 ft gravel driveway chip & sealed. They arrived when they said that they would and worked hard to make sure that I was satisfied with the job. I think that I received a good quality job for the price. I would use them again.
Schoenberger Lawn Care has been servicing my lawn for over a year. They do great professional work. I love my new Paver Patio and Flowerbeds. My home looks better than it ever has thanks to their service.
Michael did my driveway in concrete for me. He gave me a free estimate, which was significantly lower than the other quotes I had. His work was done quickly, looks great, and will last forever. I highly recommend his work!
I had Henry come out to my place this week to reseal my driveway and my neighbors driveway. He did an awesome job and the driveway looks better than it has ever looked after getting sealed. Thanks!
Greg and his crew of men removed the old and poured a new driveway, sidewalk and stoup. They did an excellent job and his crew took care to not damage the surrounding areas. While the work spanned several days due to the rainy weather, they always cleaned everything each day before the left (street and all). Greg’s estimate was the best. We appreciate finding someone who takes pride in doing a good job and satisfying their customers. We definitely will recommend him to others in the future. Very hide job and very nice people. Joe and Laura S.
