- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I want the flexibility of working from home on a contract basis. I want to be able to accept jobs when they interest me and when they fit into my schedule. I like to travel and working remotely allows me to travel when I want to. As long as I have my computer and phone I am all set to work, whether it be at home or on the road!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Up to this point my projects have been Internet research, data gathering, data entry, report preparation, and writing.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I am just getting started in the virtual working world. I have done quite a bit of research and have found that there are many scammers out there. If it looks too good to be true then it is. Trust your intuition. Interact via email or phone before hiring. Ask a virtual worker to do a "test" or an "audition" for you and those who are committed to working virtually will understand. The good news is that if you are dissatisfied after hiring it is easy to terminate a relationship with a virtual worker with little or no cost to you.
