Introduction: I firmly believe in the power of music and desire to help each of my students develop and nurture their musical gifts and passions. Though piano is my main instrument of study, I also teach beginner and intermediate guitar lessons and beginner drum lessons in addition to general music and theory. I offer lessons geared to more modern styles, such as pop/rock and progressive church music, as well as traditional style lessons geared toward reading classical music notation. Most students decide to dip their feet in a little of both for a more rounded and practical learning experience. I teach all ages from preschool to wise-and-old school. With a background in music therapy, I have training and experience teaching individuals with various exceptional abilities. Though I typically teach lessons in my home, I am willing to drive to family's homes depending on need, number of students and location. I offer piano lessons in various styles (jazz/blues, classical, worship, rock, etc.) and include more than the "typical piano teacher" as I delve into chords, how music works, how to compose music (if desired), how to learn your favorite music, music with technology (when asked) and how to grow to love and creatively express who you are through music. These aspects are also offered with guitar/drums or any other music lessons. With a background of studying piano for 19 years, in addition to multiple various instruments (guitar, drums, voice, violin & others), I have been teaching music lessons including piano, guitar, some voice and drums and general music for over seven years and have just relocated to New Philadelphia, OH. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis in music therapy from the conservatory in Kansas City, Missouri (UMKC Conservatory of Music & Dance) in 2013 and have a background playing with others in bands in and outside of school and church, choirs, drumline and other music groups.
