Very good trainer. My dog / puppy was biting she showed me why was needed to stop this behavior. It did work. Very personable and makes you feel comfortable. Good price also. Well worth your money. This is my baby that she has helpedAug 19, 2017Verified
Susie was prompt and willing to share information with myself and grandson in several ways that would work for him. Enjoyed working with herAug 5, 2018Verified
As first time dog owners, we were doing some things right with our wheaten terrier, Dori, but needed help teaching her to follow basic commands. Susie was patient with us in pointing out some ways to be assertive and got us started using games to teach Dori to Come, Bring It Here, and Drop It. She also showed us how to use the Heel command while walking Dori. After we've worked on these for a few weeks, Susie plans to return to follow up on our progress. Susie is a knowledgeable trainer with a sense of humor that made the training fun for Dori and our whole family.Jun 3, 2018Verified
Susie has given us hope that will not have to rehome our dog. She knows exactly what our dogs needs and how to show us what to do and what we were doing wrong. I’m so thankful for coming across her.May 31, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing varies from dog to dog depending on the training needed to correct whatever issues their owners have. I know I am not the most expensive. Not because I am not as effective as other trainers, but because I want people to be able to afford training for their pet so they will keep them and value them.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? On my first visit I talk to my client about specific behaviors they want corrected. I assess the dog/puppy to see where they are in terms of behavior. I start working with the dog and the owner to teach them the technique each behavior requires to reach the goal. I explain dog psychology and how they relate to the correct technique for each behavior and how they respond to how thier owner relates to them . My goal is to help make their pet a valued and loved member of the family.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have always had something that draws animals to me. I was always the one (out of 5 siblings) who trained our pets and saw to their needs. I apprenticed my self to a local dog trainer when I was twelve and started training on my own when I was 13. I have continued to train and relate to dogs my whole life no matter what else I was doing. I kept up with the new and changing training techniques through the years. I ended up graduating from Animal Behavior College and receiving certification and continue to learn from them as an alumnas. They have been a great resource for me.
