Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I always make sure that the stump is completely ground below the grass line. It is important to be at least 4" below the grass line to assure the reseeded grass has enough good soil to establish its self and to blend in with the surrounding grass. Also, when there is a mound of grass around the stump the whole area must be ground to insure a successful opportunity to level the area. It might cost a little more but it will dramatically simplify the grass replanting afterwards because you will be able to spread the dirt to level in the lawn instead of digging the dirt mound down to level. Saves time and energy so make sure the quote you get from a stump grinding service includes this area to be ground.

He does a great job. Better than the other tree service I used before. He grinds them below the ground deep enough that you won't be hitting it with your mower. Very nice fellow.

Bryan Bradford was very communicative. I was able to get a quote pretty quickly via mobile and in person. Even though I have not used the companies services yet, I would recommend having them on the list of quotes. He was great to talk to and very informative. Bryan made it easier for me throughout the thought process. He will not steer you wrong...Pro Bradford Stump Grinding!

Every responsive. Went above and beyond even grinding roots close to the surface that were spread out away from the tree so we can plant grass.

Polite, easy to talk to, understanding and he explains exactly what he is going to do. He also allowed for feedback on our part. Once he quoted and we agreed upon the price for the job, we agreed and he went right to work. At the end he cleaned up and placed all the grindings in a mound as requested. He also looked at other future projects and gave us a preliminary quote. We will continue to give him future jobs as well as recommend him to neighbors, friends and family.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure the stump guy has insurance, owns his own equipment and will remove the heaved up section of the lawn that contains roots so that you can relevel the lawn. It is really important that the price he quotes includes root removal. You really don't want to have roots in the lawn for the next 10 years after the stump is done and the guy is paid. I see stumps that are ground out by "Professionals" that don't go deep enough. You need about 4" below the grass line to be able to reseed the lawn. Caution working with guys who rent machines. They generally rush through the job so they can get to the next before they run out of time.
