I have been taking lessons from Trent for a month or so now and he is great. I have been playing guitar for almost 19 years and decided to go back and learn theory and enjoy it a ton. He is able to break thoughts down and explain them in a way one can understand. Highly recommended!!
I'm a beginning / intermediate bass player getting back into it after not playing for a lot of years, and trying to learn to do jazz bass stuff for a jazz trio with some friends. Every time I mention a song we're doing, Jeremy knows all kinds of stuff about the song, its history, the chord progressions, etc, and has been really helpful at increasing my comfort doing walking bass lines. It's been a great way to pick up lots of jazz and music theory and context that wouldn't have been easy to pick up on my own. I'm a few lessons in, and so far: great guy, great lessons.
I was seeking guitar lessons to improve my entry-level skills and to be able to write some songs. Just under a year later, I understand various different scales (major, minor, and some modes) and when to use them. I also have a comfortable grasp of the different chords and chord shapes. I was planning to focus on just rock n roll but I've been introduced to a much broader array of music including funk, blues, jazz, reggae, and metal as well as different techniques used within each genre. Lessons have been great and have helped me learn not only what to play, but why I'm playing it too. I cannot say enough good things about Justin who has an answer to any question and an accessible teaching style (which is saying a lot when referring to guitar). Every time I leave my lesson I feel that I've improved and I have the support to inspire me to keep improving.
John invited me to have a free lesson as soon as after my phone calll. This first free lesson gave me a good impression of the school that he presented. He was friendly and flexible. This is my experience meeting John Toedtman for the first lesson. I am looking forward to learning piano from him.
After trying to learn guitar casually on my own for a few years, I decided to seek out lessons. When I compared a few places I felt like Brian Armor would be a good teacher. I started taking weekly lessons a few months ago and chose a favorite rock song to learn. Since then I've added several songs and feel great about my progress. Brian is good at teaching things quickly. He knows how to adapt to my pace and scale it down. He gives me a good sense of where I'm at and what to work on, including reminders to avoid my bad habits. I'm impressed that Brian can listen to a song and is able to play it by ear, with the right tuning, key, and rhythm. Overall I'm having fun, playing songs I like (not just scales and chord progressions), and looking forward to getting better. Guitar lessons are my favorite part about Mondays! I highly recommend guitar lessons with Brian.
My experience has been excellent with Ric. He is a great guitar instructor. He is also very friendly and flexible. I enjoy my lessons, but I also enjoy our conversations. The studio is really cool too. My recommendation speaks for itself, as I will be signing up my seven-year-old son with Ric for his first guitar lessons. Thumbs up!
My piano lessons have been enlightening and I look forward to my time with Christie each week.
John has been my guitar teacher for several years and he has been a wonderful mentor. He is very skilled and does an extremely good job at explaining his musical knowledge. Whether it comes to jazz, classical rock, blues, alternative, or really any genre of music, John is an expert. He teaches lessons and plays at various venues with his band or as a solo act. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced guitarist and teacher.
I had a guitar teacher named Phil Black, and he was a very cool dude. But in five years, I learned practically nothing from the man...ended up getting lessons from Geoff, and now I know what I'm doing. He really knows what he's doing, but I'm sure Phil did as well. The difference is that Geoff can actually teach you what you need to know with ease and simplicity. Highly recommend.
I have to say that I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of guitar lessons Jon and Release Musician Development Academy provide my eleven year old daughter. Jon's professionalism is excellent and the knowledge he conveys to his students is phenomenal. Jon always goes above and beyond to make the time spent in class fun, meaningful, and challenging. My daughter always comes home in a brighter mood than when she arrived. She has a strong sense of accomplishment and feels good about what she was able to learn and perfect. Jon provides thorough homework that he calls a "workout schedule" for his students. It is timed and very specific, which allows students to make the most out of their practice time. There is no guesswork, which is so helpful for my 6th grade daughter. She enjoys the "workouts" and I don't have to nag her to practice. Even during the holidays, when we were on break, Jon emailed us some fresh assignments to keep my child progressing. At that time, he also sent us a song my daughter had recorded in his studio. It was so heartwarming, it brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend Release Musician Development Academy for new students, as well as for those who have already had lessons in the past.
My daughters have been taking lessons for the last 5 years and have had a great experience. We love the teachers and the recitals are great. I would highly recommend Sharp School of Music.
I've been taking voice lessons with Allison for 4 months. Allison is knowledgable and professional. The lessons are enjoyable and I'm seeing improvement in my singing. I appreciate her willingness to let me choose some of the songs I'm learning and the flexibility to work around my schedule. I'm an older adult who has wanted to take voice lessons for a long time. I'm glad I finally started and that I found the Sharp School of Music.
The purpose of the Well Oiled Vocal Studio is to provide each student with the tools they need to produce easy and beautiful sounds in all genres, using practical instruction and positive reinforcement. I specializes in college -- prep as well as postgraduate repertoire. My audition knowledge and close relationship with many voice faculty around the country helps my sense of repertoire choices for young and mature singers alike. Though all students are welcome to audition, the private studio does not take students younger than thirteen years old.
You learn to play better, so you can touch more hearts! I teach beginning guitar (all styles), classical guitar (all levels) and music theory and improvisation. I am a former university instructor with 30 years of experience.
My main focus is giving worship guitar lessons to Christians wanting to learn worship-focused techniques. I have strong backgrounds in rock, blues, jazz, as well as being classically trained in college. I take what I have learned about different styles of music and apply it to worship concepts. When you come for lessons, we will first determine where your level of musical knowledge is and start from there. I am able to teach everything, from basic-level chords to advance-level improv soloing. As lessons progress, we will focus on music theory, aural skills, sheet music reading as well as the standard worship guitar repertoire. I am an artist, and I will strive to push you to excellence by developing a lesson plan around your personal style of learning.
I believe that music is a powerful and transformative skill for people of all ages to learn. Children who study music routinely perform better in school and are more likely to graduate. Music education gives the gift of being able to express oneself, which I believe to be one of the greatest gifts a person can give another. In signing for lessons with me, you will have someone in your corner to help explain things like technique, theory, and timbre. I offer the first lesson for free as my chance to audition to be your teacher.
I teach voice and general music. This includes solfege, music theory, and other musical basics. Lessons start out at 1 hour per week, but if more time is requested, a schedule can be worked out. The best thing about music is that everyone can get involved. Everyone can do something. Why not give it a chance?
I have a BA in music and three years of teaching experience, both voice and piano. I will work within your musical tastes to help you reach your highest level of musicianship.
I offer hands-on guitar lessons to the students' preference. I am an accomplished young guitar player who plays in all genres of music.
I believe in what I do.
