What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While a single session rate is $95, many clients choose a one month package option which is much more economical at $333. This includes four 50-60 minute sessions, and "spot" coaching calls, emails and texts in-between sessions per your needs. To fully experience the effectiveness of a life coaching program, an initial three-month commitment of weekly sessions is suggested. This provides time to develop a trusting relationship with the coach, gain clarity about what you would like to achieve, and begin working on your action plan. A three-month package is offered at $900/twelve sessions. After the initial three months, most clients have established traction with their motivation and goals. They then often choose to meet with the coach every-other-week so they have more time to work on specific assignments. A bi-monthly package is offered at $180/two sessions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In the beginning, we will discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together, and we will create an action plan to help you achieve your goals. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help you stay on task and progress towards what you want. Through our work together, you will eliminate obstacles, explore alternative perspectives and celebrate successes. At the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to help you achieve the results you desire. The coaching process will help you to feel renewed, energized and excited about your life!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Lake Erie College, and a Professional Life Coaching Certification from the World Coach Institute.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have worked in the social services and mental health fields for most of my career. Although I have worked in many different settings: homeless shelter, group home, domestic violence center, children's programs and community mental health agencies, my favorite part of all of those positions was when I was privileged to help a client gain confidence and realize their true potential. Life coaching is just a natural fit for me. I get as excited as my client's do when they take steps forward. It makes my heart sing!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have coached people of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds over the years. Clients who achieve the most success are self-motivated, open minded and willing to try new things. They also recognize that a good coaching relationship is a collaborative partnership, and are receptive to direct and honest feedback. Successful clients communicate honestly, and let me know directly when something doesn't feel right. Finally, in order to keep our sessions focused on coaching goals, clients who achieve the most success understand the value of consistent attendance, paying on time, and following through on assignments and readings in-between sessions.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One story that stands out to me is of a coaching client who made some major life changes in about three months. This client was 58 years old, and had suffered several personal losses that left him feeling lost. His dream was to change careers and go into real estate part-time so he could make time for his pottery (which he loved so much). He was self-motivated and willing to do the work necessary to move forward, but became paralyzed with fear when it came time to take the real estate licensing exam. He had taken the practice tests over and over again and had scored well, yet was gripped with fear regarding taking the actual tests. He laughs now when he tells the story of how I encouraged him to take out his phone and schedule the test as we talked during one of our sessions. He said, "It was something so simple, yet I just couldn't make myself do it until you said, 'Go ahead and do it now'!" I had lunch with this former client recently and his business, now a year later, is flourishing! He sold two homes last week and his art work has been featured in several shows (and sought out for purchase, which is making it a very lucrative "hobby") When this client says he is "living the dream", he truly is! (Some of the details of this story have been changed to protect this client's identity, but none of the important facts have been changed such as his amazing success!)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise a person who is looking for a life coach to ask a lot of questions about the coach's experience and education. In addition, request a complimentary consultation before making a decision because you want to be sure that the connection feels right. Coaching is a very personal experience, and establishing a trusting relationship is vital for success!
