We had a great meeting. The quote was in line of what I want to pay. He was on time and very professional. I was referred to the Company from a relative that did business with them in the past and had a great experience. Very impressed.

Updated Review After initially posting a negative review based on some issues that had not been resolved, I was quickly contacted by the company. He sent out two people to come and complete the work that wasn't done before and correct the issues that needed corrected. The guys that did the work were very nice and when they came back out did a good good job. Final work completed covered all initial quote and job looks better now. Last three photos show final work completed. Communication with customer could be improved from management, scheduling, and follow up.

Details: Repair one or few decking boards • Complete renovation of existing deck or porch • Wood • Residential

A project manager with Good News Builders came to my home on 4/25/21 and submitted a proposal for porch repairs with an estimated start date of 8-10 weeks out. I paid $1100 on that same day which was half of the total proposal. In late June I started calling to get a start date and was told my project manager had been in a very bad accident and was in ICU in Detroit. He said the company was redistributing the work to other teams and would call me back in 2 weeks with a start date. In July and August I had 18 phone contacts. Charlie Brown would call and give more reasons why he didn’t have a start date. In October I sent a certified letter to the business to request a refund of my $1100. Charlie Brown called in response to the letter to offer a start date but the work had to be completed by another contractor due to safety concerns so I reiterated my request for the refund. Mr. Brown agreed but as of today 12/2/21 I have not received a refund or any additional communication from the business. I’ve filed legal matters against the company and its owner to try to get my money back.

We do not recommend this this company. A contractor came to our house in May and gave us an estimate of $1,00 for our small project. He required a $500 deposit to hold our place in their work schedule and confirmed the project would be completed in July. It is not September 2 and the project hasn’t even been started. I’ve called several numbers and texted the company and the owner. I have requested a full refund several times. I finally got him to call me back last week and he promised his team would be here on Monday or Tuesday. They didn’t show. I just want my money back.
