Rachel is an exceptional painter. She truly provides quality at a value that can’t be best. With all the stress of prepping a house for sale, we didn’t need to stress about the work she did for us. If we weren’t moving out of state she’d be painting our next house!!Apr 10, 2019Rachel Wolfe Painting's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Instead of going by a strict rate per square foot, I calculate cost starting with a base price. For example, for painting walls and trim in a regular bedroom or living room I usually start with a base amount of $250 - $300. Then I add on additional labor costs of things that increase the difficulty of the job, such as painting ceilings, doors, or radiators, or if the space is uniquely shaped or larger than average. A kitchen or bathroom is usually a little less than a bedroom or living room since much of the wall space is covered by tile, counterspace or appliances. I like to give discounts to customers whenever I can (up to 10%).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start by communicating over a phone call, email or message so I and the customer can discuss the details of the project. For a small project, I usually ask the customer for pictures and room dimensions to get a good idea of what the space is like. For larger projects, I prefer an in-person consultation to make sure I get a thorough look at the space. After the consultation, I send the quote for the customer to review. If the customer agrees to the project, we discuss contract signing and the start date.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My father owned a home improvement business for about 18 years. I worked alongside him as an on-the-job assistant for at least 4 years. He taught me everything I know about painting and continues to be my number-one consultant as I manage my painting business.
