Introduction: Fee $100 couple coming to me. FREE use of gazebo by pond (see photo). Going to you depends on distance. Starts at $200 within 15 miles of Strongsville. $150 extra if rehearsal. Big or small weddings at halls, homes or parks for anyone except same sex. Ordained in 1989 by a real church, NOT instantly over the internet or by some phoney new age spiritualistic organization. That stuff mocks God and insults your intelligence. Don't let smooz talk or price be your guide. Ask "were you ordained online?" Ask "what church are you currently preaching at or what church previously?" Your wedding is an important event, not a joke. Otherwise you would go to Las Vegas and get married by an Elvis impersonator. Notice I have photos inside and outside the church in Pennsylvania that I pastored 20 years, not just "wedding photos". One photo shows me conducting a church service. We also did nursing home and prison ministry before moving to Ohio. One photo shows me conducting a service at one of the nursing homes. Now my wife and I are doing a Christian motorcycle ministry outreach by interacting with local motorcycle clubs that are involved with various fundraisers to benefit people and organizations in need. Generally I do a simple but nice Christian ceremony, but I also have a very tasteful non-religious ceremony that I can do for those who want something civil/secular. I always do my best to make wedding dreams become reality! I take what I do seriously, but I also enjoy being part of the fun and enthusiasm. I give each wedding the concern I would give to my own family or friends getting married. AVAILABILITY, SCHEDULING, AND SO I CAN GET A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS WANTED; I PREFER TALKING ON THE TELEPHONE AS IT'S MORE PERSONAL. You are required by law to obtain an Ohio marriage license to get married in Ohio. It's illegal for me or anyone else to perform a ceremony if you don't obtain a marriage license. (Ohio Revised Code 3101.09) There is no such thing as just getting married under the eyes of God. I do not do commitment ceremonies.

Rev. James met with us before our big day and asked what kind of service we wanted. He checked in with us the day of our wedding to review everything. He did a great job at making sure we were comfortable and understood everything. He then preceeded to perform a beautiful service for us and stayed to take some pictures. He never rushed us. We hired Rev. James Hary as our officiant for our wedding on 3/7/15. He arrived early and greeted my now husband and I prior to beginning the ceremony and we had a brief rehearsal. The ceremony was quick, but perfect. We weren't looking for anything special like candle lighting or sand pouring, but Rev. James Hary seems like he would be happy to accommodate a couple's requests. We were going for a more modern wedding but we liked the idea of a more traditional ceremony for some of our older family members. He gave a beautiful speech about love and religion (which he has memorized and our guests were shocked that he didn't need to read from anything!!). Overall, everything worked out well for us and we're really happy that we went with him. I would definitely recommend Rev. James Hary to anyone planning their wedding!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is simply based on how far I will need to travel and if a rehearsal is requested. There are no other charges whether the wedding is big or small, simple or involved.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like for them to telephone me and discuss their wedding so I get a full understanding of what they want and I can advise them accordingly regarding any questions or concerns they may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As of April 20, 2014 I now have a Doctor of Divinity degree. As far as training or being fully trained in weddings, that was done years ago as I entered ministry. Since then, I have done many weddings all with positive outcomes and I've never missed a wedding or been late to one.
