I met Eric Combs through the Center for Teacher Effectiveness. He is the top DI guy. The first time I heard him I learned a lot. He is entertaining, honest, and educational. His life examples and experiences are relevant and drive home his points. Eric has helped with our business as he has been a co-trainer and has allowed us to work with him. He is a great mentor and able to give honest feedback. His portion of our training teaches me something new every time I hear it. He is energetic and funny. Time at trainings seem to fly by! Eric is professional, administrative, helpful, and diligent. He was more than on time, being early to each appointment, setting a great example by model and leadership. There was a slight hiccup at our last training, the power was out in the hotel. This certainly wasn't Eric's fault and he was able to roll with the punches extremely well. He maintained his professionalism and assisted others to do the same. I would strongly recommend him!!

Eric is most certainly not your typical speaker. His precise management of words to illustrate the subject, coupled with multilayered research into the topic facilitates presentations that are both motivating and thought-provoking. I have been present in the audience at more than a few of his presentations; each one a different topic. Eric excels at teasing the audience with information before stitching it together into a knowledgeable conclusion. His voice carries well in both a large and small venue. You need to be warned that Eric rarely stands still as he engages his audience. Predictably, he will move around the platform and make use of objects to illustrate his presentations. He knows how to âget to the pointâ. The presentations where I have been present typically leave the audience asking for more on the topic. As a result, the question and answer session following his presentations are animated and interactive. Eric is an accomplished author. His book âMission Criticalâ is exceptionally well written and addresses the concerns regarding the current state of the American education system. I look forward to his follow-on books. I highly recommend Eric as a speaker at your next event. He will motivate, animate and excite your audience. His âcan-doâ attitude is contagious. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a curriculum developer for the Center for Teacher Effectiveness I stay up to date on Androgogy and techniques/strategies in teaching adults.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started speaking to large groups after becoming the Teacher of the Year for Ohio, after that it just seemed to be the thing I loved to do most.
What types of customers have you worked with?
On-site staff development, special event presentations and motivational speaking. Depending on the group, I will speak for half an hour or conduct day long seminars on educational topics such as classroom management and Differentiated Instructional Strategies.
