Where to begin....utilizing a tutor wasn't on our minds for the standardized tests for college. Fortunately my daughter didnt fall into a category that we felt it would be necessary. However, when she took her first pass at the SAT her junior year in high school, she found timing her responses on this test properly and recalling her math from years prior were holding her back from her potential. From here, my mind opened to the option of considering a tutor. I let my daughter help make the decision as well, as it would be an investment. I have heard countless stories of putting good money after bad, and I didn't want to find myself and my daughters efforts on the short end of that stick.... Then comes Professor Z & Westside Tutoring Services........ Through a little online research, my gut and a personal friend's positive experience (after a few weeks of her high schooler working with Prof Z) we asked him to consider tutoring our daughter. I found him as delightful in person as in his referrals online... Once in awhile in life, you find that person who has a true passion for what they do....& makes sure not only THEY succeed but those people around them do....this is Prof Z. He leaves little to chance. He has created a pretty fool proof way of approaching tutoring that will allow your students true potential to come through in results. It is efficient, focused, and worth every dime. His family is a beacon of kindness and support. I would (and have) told anyone considering tutoring to be extremely careful. Don't waste money on questionable tutors....it's not something to gamble with. After Prof Z's tutoring for 3-4 months and my daughter's hard work, she achieved her personal goal of a 1560 on her SAT. She even left this second go around of the test happy and cautiously confident. Who does that at these painful 3 hour sittings?! Thank you Prof Z....proving to my college bound daughter that hard work pays off. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us, and to all the lucky community of students who cross your path......
Tutoring service is wonderful. The tutors really get to know the students and care about their progress. They customize their approach and reach students to encourage them and build trust.
Karen was wonderful. She came in near the conclusion of our daughter's senior year. She was struggling in several classes. Karen helped her zero in on the tasks at hand and took the time to guide her one on one with practical and thought-provoking ideas. It worked!
Mr. Corrice was tutoring my son last year. I am very happy with this. He was always on time and prepared with all materials for lessons and problems in areas that my son struggled with. Right now my son has an A in math class.
Dan was a great ACT tutor for my son, Mac! Mac's first attempt was a 24, but Dan told us he thought he could raise his score significantly. On his third attempt he made a 30! Dan was professional and knowledgeable, and knew how to connect with my son. I honestly never thought Mac could reach a 30, but Dan knew how to tutor him to get there. He was well worth the money, and Mac's resulting scholarships more than paid for the expense! Dan was very accessible and responsive to Mac's crazy, ever changing high school schedule. I would highly recommend him for any tutoring needs! Cindy Lassing Nashville

I am a Ohio State certified world language teacher. I have been teaching Japanese and Chinese language and cultures since 1997.
I'm very proficient in writing.
As my students are learning, I like to help them conceptualize how the language works. All languages have been influenced by other languages since the beginning of time. I love using 'cognates' (words in the language we are studying that are similar to ours) to help a student remember vocabulary and verbs more quickly.
I have worked with regular education, special education and gifted students Prek-college
