FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Actually, my pricing system is fairly simple. I can either charge by the hour and send the client a weekly invoice OR I can work out a flat fee for the project covering all hours needed. In addition, I am also happy to work out payment plans for clients if needed (for flat fee projects only).
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always get an estimate before agreeing to have any work done. Also, I always advise people not sign a contract for any reason. At most, you can sign a work agreement but you do not want to be legally bound to someone and then find out they are either scamming you or not providing the service you are being forced to pay for. And last but not least - Find out what you are paying for. Are you paying by the hour and do you know the rate? If you are paying a flat fee do you know how many hours of work that covers? Will the provider give you itemized billing if requested? Can you cancel the project at any time? Just make sure to get as much information about the project, billing procedures and work agreement before authorizing any work.
