- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have my mother to thank for getting me into this. She was a single parent raising 3 children, and could not always afford to go to the salon. I was always an aristic child, so as soon as I tall and old enough to reach the top of her head ( 13) she asked me if I thought I could highlight her hair. Then perms and cutting. I went on to college and got a degree in advertising and graphic design. Living in a rural area there was not alot of paying jobs here, I did work as a production manager for a while, and then decided to go back to school and get my license as a cosmetlolgist. After working for someone that had been in the business for 23 yrs. With no further education than beauty school I decided to take other courses, entered in competitions and won, then was approched by a manufacturer to work for them in education and shows. I have continued on this path now for 16 yrs.
