FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For most administrative work, I charge $15 -$25 per hour. Transcription is usually at a rate of $1.25 per audio or video minute. Prices may be slightly higher for difficult to read source documents, for difficult audio or video quality, or for short turn around time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to talk by phone with a new customer to clarify requirements and agree upon desired outcomes. I am happy to receive work by whatever media is appropriate including phone, email, video tape, audio tape, Dropbox, fax, Google docs, or similar platforms.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years experience working in professional offices of schools, government agencies and a church. I am proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Paint. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration that provided a solid foundation in business writing, proofreading and editing; the ability to organize my work effectively; and strong customer service skills. In addition I have six years experience writing, editing and proofreading newsletter articles for three professional organizations and have also written and proofread grant proposals. I have completed specialized training in doing transcription work quickly and accurately.
