Introduction: With years of experience in many musical settings and years of formal and private education, I aim to bring this knowledge to all of my students and customers. I tailor every lesson to your individual goals and learning styles and will create custom curriculum that is best suited to your needs.
I have nearly 15 years of experience in playing guitar, and I can teach you rock, pop, country, blues, metal, and many other styles. I have a bachelor's degree in music theory and have experience teaching guitar, trumpet, composition, and theory to students of many different ages and many different skill levels. I have played in high school bands, college and professional bands and orchestras, rock bands, country bands, sang in operas and choruses, and banged out covers in bars in coffee shops. I spent time as a semiprofessional musician in Nashville, and I currently play in a few different musical settings.
Every student will receive a free consultation in which we will discuss your goals and preferences for your lessons, in order to make sure we spend our time most effectively. My desire is to create a plan for learning that allows each student to steadily grow as musicians and achieve their specific and individual goals as musicians. Whether it's strumming an acoustic around a campfire, playing your songs in a coffee shop, playing an electric at an open blues jam, or standing in front of a roaring amplifier banging out power chords, your goals are my goals.
I'm also available as a musician for your projects. I excel as a backup musician to make your music sound as good as it can, and I am available to play acoustic or electric in nearly any genre. I have professional-level gear and am always punctual and prepared. I can read sheet music, number charts, or learn your music by ear, and am also an excellent background vocalist for harmonies and duets.
