After having seen Rachael's mural work at the OK State Fair, I knew she was the perfect artist for our mural here at Cross Timbers. She met with me, measured the space, and we chatted about content, aesthetic, density, and pricing. She worked with us every step of the way and had zero issues with minor tweaks and changes. Upon completing the mural (ahead of schedule!), she has helped us post on SM and continues to be a strong supporter of our brand!

VERY unprofessional! DO NOT RECOMMEND! Never was given any drafts of the mural to be done. Multiple things were huge errors including a misspelled word that would be difficult to fix due to the background. HUGE lack of communication on her part. She was given specific instructions with pictures and did what she thought I wanted instead of what I asked for and discussed. We are a dog grooming shop. I was told there would be a Dalmatian and a Pug. Neither of the dogs look anything like those breeds. One looks like a bulldog with an unnatural tail and the other looks like a white greyhound with its fur dyed. This was a memorial for my dog of 12 years that recently passed away from cancer. He is completely unsymmetrical and odd looking. Every time I see him it makes me cry because he looks awful. Most of the work was done around midnight. I was unable to be present because she chose to do it during a time that most people are in bed. I would show up to work and more of the wall would be done without any knowledge of what was being completed. Again a MAJOR lack of communication. The front entrance was suppose to have our logo with the address small underneath which was discussed multiple times. Not only was it completely different it looks very unprofessional and very rushed. Not to mention it isn't even the right address. She stated, "Also a bucket of white paint costs $20." We just spent over $4000 to have the entire building professionally painted and now we have to have it done AGAIN. Very poor attitude and was very quick to put the blame on me. If you decide to use her please get everything in writing BEFORE starting. She put the blame on us for not communicating. If you don't understand what the client is wanting you need to ask. This is not the proper way to do business. Absolutely no discussion of what we wanted on multiple parts.

I was only paid $2400. I charged $3200 which is very low for the square footage but seeing as this was a small business and she was giving me freedom with the design elements I gave her a discount. She was not required by me to sign a contract or any paperwork which I deeply regret especially as she requires the dog owners at her own business to sign a contract so she is not liable if they do not like her grooming. Hindsight is 20-20. I was notified weeks after the mural was up that she was displeased with certain elements. I offered to come out no charge and adjust anything she wanted changed. I work in spray paint and it's not very difficult to make changes. I was unaware of a problem until she told me since she was unsatisfied she was not going to pay the second half that she had agreed to pay. I don't know what changed so drastically in our working arrangement. I liked the mural and was more than willing to change my art to suit the client. I worked at night because there was very good lighting and it was 97 degrees during the day on a wall facing the sun all day. I work quickly and most clients find that a bonus. Also when I am in a creative flow I don't like to stop. It's really unfortunate that it turned into a she said/ she said situation so I ask you to simply visit my photo gallery and check out Rovers Makeover. I and many others think it looks fantastic but art is subjective.
