Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: While many instructors choose to use one curriculum for all of their students, I customize my lesson plans to fit each student's musical preferences and goals while addressing obstacles that impede progress. The depth in which we cover each subject is guided by the students' personal interests and goals. By fully encompassing all the elements of a well rounded musical education, my students gain the ability to read musical notation fluently, improvise and play by ear, and have an in-depth understanding of musical theory. I love the opportunity to sit down with people of all ages and backgrounds and help them unlock their creative potential.

Luisa was my 7 year old piano teacher for over a year, and now she is moving to NEW YORK. My son really loved her. He made great advances in playing piano; she really listened and met his needs. She was always on time in her class and thought my son music theory, composition and practice. We are sorry to lose her a but I am sure she will do great in her new endeavors.

I've taken piano lessons from Luisa, for a year and half. Very professional. Yet fun and interactive. I brought a guitar piece to her to see if it could be transposed to piano. By the following weeks lesson, she had it ready for me I sheet music. I was so impressed by this, as it was something she did on her own time to help further my music lessons.

I came to Luisa with entry-level skills and knowledge of piano and she really opened a whole new world of understanding for me. She broke down the system of scales and understanding chords in an intuitive way that really helped me make immediate gains in my playing ability. She had me reading lead sheets and successfully playing chord inversions in just a few lessons! I would recommend her to students of all ages & skill levels.

The most amazing teacher I have encountered. My daughter learned so much thanks to Ms. Matthynssens.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Learning an instrument takes work on the part of the student. If you want to learn quickly, be prepared to spend several days a week reviewing the topics covered in the lesson and exploring the instrument on your own. If you're the parent of a student, parental supervision while your child is practicing is vital to the learning process. That way, you can be sure your student is using their practice time wisely and learning to be autonomously productive.
