FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is impossible to predict how expensive an action in family law will be. My promise to my clients is that my billing is detailed and transparent, thus, you will never have a doubt of what I am billing you for. Further, I promise to my clients that I will represent them in the most efficient manner possible, keeping costs as low as they can be given the circumstances. That being said, effective legal representation is expensive and worth every penny. Hiring an attorney who is not as dedicated can hurt your case, overbill, and cause you to spend a greater amount to simply clean up mistakes. My typical fees include a $2000 retainer, from which I bill my time and costs at a rate of $250/hour. When the action is over and money is still in the retainer, the amount left will be returned to you. I reserve the right to modify my retainer and rates based on the case.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer an initial consultation that my clients are not billed for. During this time we discuss your needs and develop a strategy. Afterwards, I draft any documents that would be filed with court and send to you for review and signatures. I review your case weekly, which includes contacting you to discuss any questions you may have, or developments in your case. My goal is to help you stay informed and educated, so that you will be confident that my representation is aimed at meeting your goals. Being a small firm, my clients have access to my cell phone and may contact me beyond the normal hours of business should the need arise. The Price Law Firm, P.L.L.C., was founded on premise that integrity, knowledge of the law, and fierce representation, combined with great customer service would both build business, as well as best serve our clients.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before becoming an attorney, I served in the community as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I worked for non-profit and for-profit organizations, providing psychotherapy to adults, children, and families. As a private practice clinician, I have over 8 years of experience in mitigating high conflict issues in relationships. I bring this experience to court as an attorney working in family law. Often, as an attorney, my experience as a mental health counselor is helpful. I have found that my experience has helped in negotiating for favorable outcomes, questioning expert witnesses, and challenging assumptions with knowledge. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Oklahoma City University, a Masters of Science in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University, and a Juris Doctorate from the College of Law at the University of Tulsa. I am Licensed by the state of Oklahoma as a Licensed Professional Counselor, as both a practitioner and supervisor. I am also licensed by the State of Oklahoma as an Attorney.
