FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Find out what they really need, access the steps to get them there and then implement the process. Then I suggest things that I think would help their accounting run smother.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am not a CPA but I graduated with a BBA from the UofO in accounting. I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor which requires testing each year. I am an Enterprise ProAdvisor and an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor too. You need to be ready to do the testing which sometimes is hard especially if you are extremely busy. It is worth it though because I love to learn. The one thing to remember too is that if you don't keep up on your own, your clients will force you to keep up. They are always as about something new and if you don't know you had better learn fast because that what their advisor to be up on something or they will move to another.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to be a professional when I was much younger. I asked myself what would be the worst thing I could do. As a doctor I could give them a bad prescription and it could kill them. I could be a surgen and kill someone on the table. I could be a lawyer and have my client sent to the gas chamber. I could be an accountant and I could lose all their money but they would still be a live. I loved math. Numbers made sense. 1 +1 = 2 period. My dad started out in accounting. Hum! I like using his funny paper (columner pads). I then thought I would take a bookkeeping course in school and I really liked it so i dediced to go in accounting.
