Introduction: My work excels in two areas: photojournalism style photography and using a remote light for portraits, and other parts of the wedding. I'm a Pulitzer Prize nominated and national award winning former newspaper photographer who learned how to do fashion photography at weddings. This shows in my work. We had the absolute pleasure to have Pete be our photographer for not only our engagement photos, but also our wedding. In short, he is wonderful. Not only did he take our personalities into account, he was thoughtful, professional and attentive. Not only that, but we felt that he had as much fun shooting us as we did during our event. The quality of the photos were stunning, and his background in photo journalism is evident. As we reviewed our photos, he truly captured our 'story' and so very much of the emotions. Amazing, fun, and fantastic to work with.... he was a pleasure and his work is astounding. Not only did he capture our special day vividly but he also did so in a way that we remember and the emotions that we experienced.

The wedding experience that our families had at Tetherow was amazing. A huge part of that experience was Pete's mixture of professionalism and participation in the event. We had an intimate wedding with close family and friends that had known each other their whole lives. Twenty minutes into the pre-wedding festivities, it felt like Pete had been a part of that group from the beginning. We couldn't be happier with our decision to have Pete capture these special moments. As for the work, it is simply stunning.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is a la carte. It starts at $1,500 for four hours of coverage with a disk of images you can print to a size of 8x12 and goes up from there for more. I highly recommend more, of course, and especially recommend doing an engagement portrait shoot ahead of time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All the time. I watch webinars on the business of wedding photography, lighting, fashion, etc. I also try to make it to the WPPI conference in Las Vegas every year. I read peoples blogs, study other peoples work online and in magazines. Watch movies and good TV shows to see the lighting. Everything to do with photography I study constantly.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to have fun doing fun pictures. This doesn't always happen as a news photographer. I knew my job at newspapers was going to end and started looking at the future. My skill set as a news photographer and my personal style of being a person who loves having fun mesh together perfectly for wedding photography.
