Tammy was a wonderful addition to the team of caregivers providing support to my father; he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 primary liver cancer and was estimated with 2-4 weeks to live. Since we’ve moved him to hospice, he’s lost strength and become very foggy. Tammy rearrranged her scheduled when we expressed fear that he may not be alive three days from now, showed up to the hospice on time, and my father - in the middle of the session and for the first time in days - opened his eyes wide and introduce himself to her. We will undoubtedly bring her back into our care circle, and can’t express our gratitude for her work enough.

Lisa is a wonderful and inspiring trainer! She is an expert in her field, and I’m very pleased with her services and her guidance. I wish I found her sooner! Dahn is a top-notch trainer/coach and wellness instructor! I have known her for three years while working with her at the Curves Center in Aloha. Dahn has been my coach and instructor in Zumba classes and as a trainer assisting individuals/groups during a 30 minute completion of the Curves circuit. Dahn is an extremely knowledgeable and positive person who shares her love of exercise, nutrition, positive thinking, and in directing us to additional book readings/web sites that are helpful to everyone in getting/keeping their bodies in tip-top shape! Taylor is fantastic! If I could rate her higher than 5 stars I would. She is available any time I need her, answers all of my questions and concerns and is a great fitness coach/personal trainer. I always have fun doing my workouts even when it's grueling. Simply a wonderful experience.
It was great working with Travis. He is a very detail oriented trainer who cares about helping you get the results you want and will push you to your limit to help you get there. He knows that you need a well rounded workout routine to reach your goals, and makes sure to switch it up not only to work each muscle group and continue from hitting a plateau in your weight loss goals, but so that you don't get bored! The only issue I had working with Travis, was that after months of working towards my goals, I began to lose some motivation, and stopped making as much success. I felt that Travis could have given me some baby step smaller goals to help me get back to where I needed to be to have success, but each session we would work out, and I would go home, feeling good about the workout, but knowing I wasn't fully committed anymore. Maybe Travis could, in the future, help set smaller goals with his clients if they begin to lose motivation, even if that means giving "homework" and consistently checking in each session. Overall, I am very happy I worked with Travis, and feel that my time with him has drastically changed not only my body and my weight loss, but my entire way of thinking about health, diet, and exercise. It's truly a lifestyle choice to work out and eat right and be a healthier you, and it's one I am happy to take part in, thanks to Travis Baker!

It's been an absolute pleasure working with Scott! From day one he's exhibited professionalism, tremendous energy, and the ability to custom tailor workouts to achieve my noteably aggressive goals. I came to Scott already in good shape having spent a great deal of time in the gym. I was looking to mix things up, and learn new ways to push myself. You can tell how much Scott enjoys what he does. It comes through every day in the gym. He was always eager and excited to throw new challenges my way. His knowledge of health and fitness shined each time he broke down a new exercise for me, walking through the form, the muscles impacted, and the desired result. As someone with a passion for fitness and already solid baseline of knowledge, I was blown away with how much I was able to take away from each session. Doug and I met while I was coaching at one of the top high school cross country programs in the state of Oregon. I had an injured athlete that he spent some time working on to get him healthy. That was the beginning of a 10 year relationship with the athletes that I have coached as well as my family of athletes. Doug's ability to find the root cause of the issue and work to a solution was the best we have found. Doug's technique and effectiveness created a verb by those that he worked on. My body is not functioning the right way...I need to be "Dulaked". Doug had a great following in Portland and when he moved to Arizona one of our athlete resource possee was gone. I highly recommend Doug in his practice.

She suggested practical recipes that I could prepare for my small family, gave specific nutrition advise applicable to my particular situation, and via regular meetings helped me stay on track with implementing her suggestions for improved sleep, lowered stress, and a sensible approach to weight reduction. I'm so glad I reached out to Guide on the Side for help with my two teens! I'll admit up front that I'm a rather "picky" mom--I have high expectations and I'm careful about who I allow my kids to spend time with. Ms. Karmiller did not disappoint! All of our interactions were professional and so, so supportive. Ms. Karmiller is a compassionate, patient teacher, Her developmental and educational expertise is evident. After spending a little time with each child, she seemed to have an intuitive feel for how to best tackle each child's unique needs. She clearly has a knack for developing supportive and instructional relationships with children. Both of my children felt cared for and respected. Their time with her was "fun" and did not seem like work, even though they got a lot done. One teen was struggling with a high school AP class, and over a period of several months, Ms. Karmiller provided direct tutoring as well as instruction on specific study strategies tailored to my child's learning style. That child raised her class grade by two letter grades! It is such a joy to see her feeling more independent and confident now. I think she's even got the courage to try other AP classes in the future. My other child needed assistance during the transition between high school and college. Ms. Karmiller provided life skills training (guidance on financial budgeting and developing routines) and job search assistance (resume building, job applications, and networking/interview coaching). These are things I'd normally try to help my child with myself, but as is typical of this age, the child wanted to be independent and do these things by himself. It was a great comfort to me as a parent to know that he had another trusted, knowledgeable adult to turn to with questions. He got to feel independent, and I got the security of knowing my child was adapting well during the transition. In addition to meeting with him as scheduled, Ms. Karmiller went above and beyond, checking in with him regularly to inquire about his progress. She also updated me so I stayed "in the loop." I highly recommend Guide on the Side to other parents who want to help their children with school or emerging adult skills.
I purchased 2 sessions with Nina on Groupon and it was one of the best investments i have made. She made me feel comfortable right from the start. Even though it was only 2 sessions, i learned alot about myself and how to address the issues that brought me to her in the first place. I highly recommend Nina and her life coaching, she was truly a joy to spend time with.
