Introduction: Hi! Thank you for taking time to check out my profile. So, you have some goals and you are looking for a personal trainer.. How do you decide, with all the options available, who is going to be the best trainer for you? Let me tell you a bit about me, how I train, and then you can go decide from there. I have been training for nearly 10 years now. I am confident working with all types of clients, ranging from injuries to beginners, from obese to conditioned individuals. Whether your goal is to lose weight or pack on some muscle, look and feel your best in everyday life, or just getting started and want to learn how to do it the right way, I am your trainer. Our gym offers an amazingly rare and private setting with all of the tools and equipment we need to achieve all of your goals. I love fitness and all that it represents. I know I will never stop training clients and working out is part of who I am. I practice what I preach, train hard, and take care of myself. Helping people achieve goals is the best! I can only choose three of above categories but I would give Jake all five. During my initial assessment seven months ago, I presented Jake with a unique shoulder issue. He has been working around this excellently. His qualities as a personal trainer have exceeded my expectations! He displays: 1) Integrity both in his work with me as client and also to his business. 2) A genuine passion for his profession. He approaches each workout session with enthusiasm; It motivates me to work harder; and 3) Anatomical Awareness: He knows exactly how and why each muscle group functions, how to work and combine them effectively and when to push me and when to back off...especially, given my shoulder issue. I highly recommend Jake and Intrinsic Training!!

I have worked with Jake for a short time but having worked with other personal trainers it was quickly obvious Jake is highly skilled and knowledgeable in his craft. He knows just how & when to encourage & when to push to get you the results you are looking for while making you feel good about yourself. Because of his efforts, I feel stronger, more energetic, I have better balance, less discomfort throughout the day, & most importantly working out has become fun & something I look forward to. I would recommend Jake 100% to anyone who wants to feel better about themselves & have the work taken out of working out.

I was extremely hesitant about working with a personal trainer, for more than one reason... and I am SO glad I took the leap. I wouldn’t want to work with any one else. Jake pushes me, he makes me feel comfortable, he not only helps you reach your goals but creates a friendship, answers any questions I have, isn’t afraid to kick my butt into shape and have fun - it’s actually fun. Etc etc, I’ll leave the rest of the corny stuff for y’all to see for yourselves. 💪🏼

I came to Jake around three months ago looking for guidance with conditioning and lifting. At the time I was dealing with a problematic back and shoulder that kept me limited to what I could do. For the first two months Jake worked me through numerous stretches and form movements to help get my back healthy and my body balanced. During that time the workouts never got boring as Jake’s always had something new to work on that would help build stability and improve my form. Three months in and we are working on lifting and I’ve never felt more stable and secure. Jake has a wealth of knowledge with many tips, drills, and cues to get you into the correct position to maintain form and stability. After working with him it’s easy to tell he has a ton of experience cleaning up people’s form. I can’t recommend Jake enough and am excited to continue working with him to achieve my goals!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Pricing is based on the client doing 1- 60 minute training session per week. *Rates are discounted for clients training multiple times per week. *Partner and Small Group Training are available at separate rates. *I also offer 30 minute WEIGHT LOSS training sessions at a lower training price. All clients are eligible to receive workout programming and nutritional guidance.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The new client process is as follows: Prior to our first meeting, you will be asked to complete a Health Screening document, as well as a Fitness Questionnaire. Next, we will schedule a complimentary Fitness Assessment, where we will discuss your specific goals, any injuries or health concerns. Then I will have you perform 8-10 functional movements so that I can better understand where you are at and know where to begin with our training. At that time I will also take measurements, weight and body fat measurements if the client prefers.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am a nationally certified personal trainer. I was certified originally through NESTA (National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association.) I also have a certification in Sports Nutrition. I worked for a health club as a personal trainer for 2 years. I was then promoted to a Fitness Manager to oversee and educate and improve the training staff. Following that I was promoted and was the Club Manager for another 2 years. I remained active and have trained clients for the past 6 years. I have competed in Physique Bodybuilding in 2013, trained and competed with a powerlifitng team as well. I have completed a marathon, half marathons, and have also done Crossfit.
