FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No complications. Pay me by the hour, month or every two weeks. Payment is simple, based on length of travel, neediness of horse and how many days per week he needs training. The highest my prices go is 70.00 dollars an hour. (That is for 3 hrs a day with a horse who's stubborn and has aggressive behavior) In other words Severe cases. Regular training will never go higher than 50.00 dollars. With a 20.00 dollar travel fee, I look at a pretty good pay and reasonable. The travel fee is only put into action when I have to travel farther than 30 miles. And even then it's not always enforced. Say your just five miles over 39.. there would be no fee.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I actively watch Clinton Anderson, John Lyons, Pat Perelli and Meredith Hodges to keep up on what they are using as training methods. Like I always say, "you can never be too prepared. "
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been around horses and just trained my own. I've had friends ask me to help them and just one day realized, on a personal level I was good at it. But it has to be the owners choice, some people like to have someone who is formal trained. Others don't really care if there is formal training or not. If they know what they are doing.
