FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first step is to get to know my clients and to give them an opportunity to express their goals and expectations. I ask them to fill out an intake form so that we can get to know what we can each expect. I then set our first session and we begin the process of working with the issues that brought them to counseling.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Divinity and have had decades of experience working with pastoral counseling. I do a lot of work on relationship issues, as well as working with how to communicate well. Many of the conflicted relationships with which I have worked are resolved and new patterns of relationship are established. I have also done much work to learn and apply the Christian Counseling Educational Foundation materials on counseling and personal growth.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started when I was a pastor in the DC area and had many members of the church who needed help to deal with difficult issues in their lives. I did a lot of work with these people and had to do a lot of study to be able to provide meaningful help. I have taken training on particular topics and have been able to bring significant help to my clients.
