Introduction: After having gone through my first wedding season as a professional officiant, I am amazed at the incredible people I’ve had the honor of meeting and creating wedding ceremonies with. It is so much fun learning people’s stories, listening to their hopes for their wedding ceremony, and together designing a wedding that reflects who they are and their love for each other. As a pastor I performed two or three weddings a year for many years, but to have the experience of performing weddings on a regular basis has been a delight. It would be great to have this experience with you. If you’re looking and hoping for a wedding that will be a celebration of your unique love and a meaningful time of committing your lives to each other, let’s talk.

Wedding Officiant

Hiring Paul as our officiant was much more than we expected. He really made it a point to get to know my husband, myself and our family. Not only did he make our love story feel so special when we met up with him, he made our love story come alive during our ceremony. We are so thankful that Paul officiated our wedding and see him and his wife as more loving people in our lives. Thank you for being apart of our love story. Highly recommend!

Details: Wedding • Christian • 21 - 50 guests • Help writing vows will be needed • English • Officiant will be needed at the rehearsal

Your Wedding Ceremony With Paul's reply
Thanks, Katy. You're words are really encouraging and it was an honor to join you and Jake in this episode of your love story...and an amazing love story it is! Miriam and I consider you two to be two more loving people in our lives, too. Blessings to you two.

Wedding Officiant

We’re so glad that we’ve chosen Paul to officiate our wedding ceremony. All of our expectations were exceeded to the degree we couldn’t imagine. Initially we spent some time for couple of meetings to get to know each other and discuss the ceremony. Paul was very attentive to our needs and plans. Adjusting to our schedule was smooth and timing was perfect. It’s also important to mention Paul’s willingness to travel as far as Newport or Florence. On the day of our wedding were blown away how personal and gentle our ceremony turned out to be because of Paul. We found our selves to be accompanied by close and trustful friend. Thank you Paul.

Details: Wedding • Non-religious (no mention of God) • 20 guests or fewer • Help writing vows will be needed • English • Officiant will not be needed at the rehearsal • Officiant does not need to be present at rehearsal

Wedding Officiant

Paul was great, we got lucky to find him via Thumbtack. We have met him and his wife once before the wedding and once at the wedding, they both are great. He interviewed me and my wife to get to know us better and he came up with a great story that he made a fantastic speech. I’m sure he has done a lot of work to put that together. We highly recommend Paul and he is the best. Again, we are so grateful to have Paul to officiate our wedding. Thank you so much.

Details: Wedding • Non-denominational (mentions God) • 20 guests or fewer • Help writing vows will be needed • English • Officiant will be needed at the rehearsal

Wedding Officiant

My husband and I had Paul as our officiant, we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else. Paul takes the time to get to know both bride and groom to make a more meaningful ceremony. He is very respectful of making what you want done in the ceremony happen. He moved guests to tears and made them laugh, we will never forget his amazing ceremony. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for a down to earth, kind officiant.

Details: Wedding • Christian • 201 - 300 guests • Help writing vows will not be needed • English • Officiant will be needed at the rehearsal • Date and time has not yet been chosen

Wedding Officiant

I HIGHLY recommend Paul! He is great to work with and he is very professional. It was great to have him be a part of our big day. Some of the best memories that come from my wedding are some of the amazing things that Paul had mentioned when my husband and I were at the alter together. Paul truly got to know us well before our big day, and everything that he said could not have been said any better! He is very flexible when it comes to throwing in your own ideas and he is an amazing public speaker!

Your Wedding Ceremony With Paul's reply

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My fees are on a sliding scale depending on size, location, and complexity/formality of the wedding. The range is anywhere from $100 to $300, but currently by base price is $210 with rehearsals an added $60. If you're interested in pre-marital counseling, that would be $50 a session.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We'll have an initial phone chat to make sure we're a good fit. If we are, we'll have a meeting of the three of us to begin initial wedding planning. If at all possible, I like this to be a zoom/facetime meeting. Then I like to meet with each person individually via zoom/facetime in order to get to know you better about three weeks before the wedding. Finally, we'll have an in-person meeting to fine-tooth comb the wedding, making sure every detail has been addressed one week before the wedding. Obviously, if the wedding date is close at hand at the beginning of the planning process, the process will be condensed. If you're interested in pre-marital counseling, we can set a schedule for that. Pre-marital counseling could be anywhere from one to three sessions. Of course, there might be a number of extra phone calls, emails, and texts through out the course of the planning.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was a pastor in the Friends (Quaker) church for over 30 years and have officiated many weddings and provided numerous pre-marital counseling opportunities. I have been through specific training for pre-marital counseling. Note: I do not have a professional counseling degree/license, but I have taken a graduate level class and a further-educational programs geared specifically for pre-marital counseling.
