My son has had 3 sessions so far working with Jennifer on SAT's. All seems to be going very well. It is so nice for my son to have this tutoring via online. He is very busy between activities, school and homework. To have him take the time to drive back and forth to an SAT course, just did not make sense. He is very happy and comfortable studying with Jennifer online and he feels like these sessions will make a huge difference in his ability to do well on the SAT

Alex has been tutoring my 9th Grade daughter since the beginning of the year. He has complete familiarity with the High School syllabus, and is happy to liaise with her math teacher, I find him always very professional. He has built up a great rapport with her, and she certainly enjoys his relaxed, positive approach.

I'm so glad I reached out to Guide on the Side for help with my two teens! I'll admit up front that I'm a rather "picky" mom--I have high expectations and I'm careful about who I allow my kids to spend time with. Ms. Karmiller did not disappoint!  All of our interactions were professional and so, so supportive. Ms. Karmiller is a compassionate, patient teacher, Her developmental and educational expertise is evident. After spending a little time with each child, she seemed to have an intuitive feel for how to best tackle each child's unique needs.  She clearly has a knack for developing supportive and instructional relationships with children. Both of my children felt cared for and respected. Their time with her was "fun" and did not seem like work, even though they got a lot done. One teen was struggling with a high school AP class, and over a period of several months, Ms. Karmiller provided direct tutoring as well as instruction on specific study strategies tailored to my child's learning style. That child raised her class grade by two letter grades! It is such a joy to see her feeling more independent and confident now. I think she's even got the courage to try other AP classes in the future.  My other child needed assistance during the transition between high school and college. Ms. Karmiller provided life skills training (guidance on financial budgeting and developing routines) and job search assistance (resume building, job applications, and networking/interview coaching). These are things I'd normally try to help my child with myself, but as is typical of this age, the child wanted to be independent and do these things by himself. It was a great comfort to me as a parent to know that he had another trusted, knowledgeable adult to turn to with questions. He got to feel independent, and I got the security of knowing my child was adapting well during the transition. In addition to meeting with him as scheduled, Ms. Karmiller went above and beyond, checking in with him regularly to inquire about his progress. She also updated me so I stayed "in the loop." I highly recommend Guide on the Side to other parents who want to help their children with school or emerging adult skills.

This is the second time using Chris for his mathematical tutoring skills. He has always been very communicative, prompt and in tune to the needs of my middle school and now highschooler. Chris gets to the bottom of the learning process and explains to both the student as well as myself what his concerns and how he will address the issues. I definitely recommend his services!

Stefanie is a wonderful tutor and teacher. She has been tutoring my son in Math for 2 years now as he has moved from 8th Grade to 9th Grade at Benson High School. He now has a solid "B" in Geometry, when before he was struggling in all aspects of Math. She communicates well with us and his teachers and gives us good feedback on what he should be working on. You will be very happy if you use her for your son or daughter.

Cathy tutored both my sons in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II. My older son was advanced in math and Cathy taught him at our home for one school year. We are delighted we were able to find Cathy. She produced a detailed curriculum for the entire year, met with him several times a week, assigned homework, additional brain teasers, and special projects. He was well prepared for the next year and kept a positive attitude about math. Cathy is a wonderful instructor. She is patient, encouraging, and keeps kids motivated with fun puzzles and really creative projects that reinforce the textbook work. She was always on time, was flexible with our schedule, and gave us plenty of advanced notice if she needed to change dates or times. Cathy is an excellent tutor and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Judkins is an excellent teacher. Only after a few lessons with him, my son had a significant improvement in ACT reading, from 19 questions wrong to 2 questions wrong in official practice tests. We are looking forward to seeing other big improvements in his future college level lessons with Dr. Judkins.

I have taken private musical composition lessons with Susan for over two years. Susan is a professional sound designer, musician and artist of the highest caliber. She has an incredibly in-depth knowledge of her field and a highly intuitive sense for teaching the arts (a notoriously difficult subject area to teach), coupled with a subtle knowledge of how to encourage a student’s creativity by providing just the right amount of direction. Susan has helped me immensely with organizing the scope and meaning of projects, thinking way outside of the box (a great specialty of hers), and providing energy, encouragement, and ample reference points for further study. Her wonderfully cheerful, comfortable and nurturing manner makes it a delight to work with her. Susan always gives freely of her time and energy, above and beyond the call of duty. She is an inspiring artist, an insightful teacher, and is a whole lot of fun to be with. I recommend her enthusiastically!

Impact has been tutoring my daughter for 3 years now. My daughter has struggled with multiple subjects. Impact has had tutors who have helped her gain confidence, increase her organization, self esteem, and last but not least, her grades. Impact has been in constant contact with her teachers to make sure they knew where she was at and have lessons ready for her when she comes with no homework. They pin point trouble areas and make sure she has all the basic concepts before moving on. Yes she has moved through tutors, but it has been 3 years. She has loved each of her tutors and we both love that she can have tutors that grow with her. They teach basic reading through advanced history, calculus, and sciences. I have had three of my children go here and my next will be there too. Best investment for my children's education and their future. -Suxueling

Anne immediately responded to all my inquiries and was the only math tutor, out of dozens that could accommodate my sons needs for an emergency tutoring session, that was urgently needed for his circumstances. She was able to commit 2 hours a day for 4 consecutive mornings within a day's notice! She was on time each and everytime, and my son went from totally being behind and lost in math to finally telling me, "mom!!! I love Anne! She helped me so much and is such an awesome teacher!" With my sons feedback and proof that Anne had helped my son finally pass all his assignments online, I knew I found the perfect tutor, and decided to hire Anne for ongoing tutoring twice a week! What set Anne apart from all my other inquires was her prompt responses to my questions, willingness to work with my schedule, reasonable hourly rate, ability to help my son in the level of math he was struggling with. I highly recommend any parent who is looking for a professional, kind, knowledgeable, prompt and committed math tutor for their high school child to first contact Anne with your tutoring needs cuz you will not need to look any further and can save hours in emailing, calling and messaging around for an available math tutor! I am happy to say that after 4 consecutive days of having Anne come to our home for tutoring and the feedback I received From my son, that our family has decided to permanently hire Anne for ongoing tutoring for the remainder of my sons time in high school! Thank you so much Anne for your commitment in helping my son and for being such a wonderfully kind and patient person and for successfully following through with our urgent 6 day deadline of catching my son up in his behind work! You did exactly what you promised you could do and even more! I want you to know that if it were not for your help that my sons high school golf career would of been over! Sincerely Grateful!!! Jennifer in Happy Valley,AND FAMILY!!!

After our one on one interview with Joey, we knew right away Joey would be a perfect fit to work with my son on SAT prep. We found Joey to be very professional, trustworthy, persistence, caring, smart, and very pleasant to talk to and work with. The system/program that Joey used to work with my son worked well and very thorough, it is tailored to my son’s needs. By the end of the program, my son picked up so many helpful skills working with Joey, for examples, reading comprehension which my son really struggled with for the longest time and strategies on tests taking that he can applied in school. My son’s SAT score has improved significantly by over 130 points working with Joey over a short period, that put him in the 90 percentiles. Additionally, not only Joey worked with my son on SAT prep, he was also a good mentor and really motivated my son to do well and recognized my son’s potentials. More importantly, my son gained more confidence and less anxiety going into the real test. On that note, I highly recommended Joey to any parents who is looking for someone to work with their child with SAT help or simply want to boost SAT scores to attracts those Ivy League schools and more scholarships! I was very pleased with Joey. Andrea

Douglas is absolutely BEYOND the BEST tutor in the world! He tutored my son in math in high school AND when he was in college. He sat in on his classes, spoke to his teachers AND found him statistics courses in college with a very small student/teacher ratio. He was a life saver. He's also a terrific human being! Thanks to Douglas, my son graduated from college and has gone on to a wonderful career.

Julie has been helping me relearn my french over the past few months. I immediately felt at ease with her kind but very effective teaching style. Julie is an excellent teacher and is always very encouraging. I have learned more with Julie alone than I did in my years of high school courses.

I am Robert Reiss, a current 8th grade student taking Russian tutoring lessons with Elena Gregerson, and have been taking lessons since the 6th grade. Before that, she was my 5th grade teacher, at Clinton Kelly Elementary School. For the three years that I have been taking Russian tutoring lessons with her, I have made much progress in several areas I was struggling in such as grammatics, pronunciation and spelling. Every time we have a lesson, she always has a plan or goal about what we are going to work on, and we always accomplish what we plan.

We were told my son was profoundly dyslexic and the news destroyed me. After looking for someone who offered LIPS tutoring on the Eastside of town, I stumbled upon Tammy at Blueberry House Tutoring. She was able to calm me down and put my mind at ease after just one visit. She didn't see the signs of dyslexia in my son and felt she could help us. We have been seeing her and her staff for just over two years now. It was the best decision I could make for my son. It's hard to say were my son would be academically without Tammy and her staff, but can honestly say he has come a long way over the past two years. We have had a couple different tutors and everyone seems to work well with my son. I would highly recommend Blueberry House Tutoring to anyone!

I decided to go back to school recently and she has helped me with math. I'm okay at math but never bothered with it much after high school, however she was able to make it fun and teachable. She also helped me with my resume and I went from maybe getting call backs, to getting more emails than I can really handle. It's awesome!
