Beau photographed my wedding in the summer of 2015. My wife and I interviewed several other photographers in the months leading up to our wedding, but it wasn’t until we met Beau that we felt like we had someone who understood what we wanted. Most wedding photographers do a fine job with elaborate set pieces and staged shots. We could have gone with anyone if that was all we cared about. But what set Beau apart was that he understood our sense of humor, and made that come through in the candid pictures he took. I don't like having my picture taken. I use a forced smile and look like a dope. I don’t look dopey in my wedding photos, and it is because Beau took the time to get to know us beforehand and was able to be present without being intrusive, and caught me at ease. My wife and I wanted lots of pictures of our close family and friends, and Beau was willing to come along and photograph a family BBQ so he could know the important players for the wedding day. Beau’s attention to detail shines through in the photos he took for us, and I look back on those pictures with great fondness - exactly what you want from your wedding photos. It may sound cliche, but my wedding was the happiest day of my life, and that was thanks to my family, my friends, and most of all my wonderful wife. The pictures show how happy I was on that day? That was all Beau.
As a happy postscript to that wedding, my wife and I now have a lovely baby girl, and we are making arrangements with Beau to take some family photos of us. I couldn’t imagine asking anyone else.
