FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Architecture is a passion for me. That word is so often overused lately, but I have always felt it. I am always reading about architecture in my free time. I am always challenging myself to learn some new way to present work or keep up with the latest technology. I also keep up with current trends in construction, environmental conscious design and alternative energy sources. I do this through independent reading as well as through professional organizations.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of my projects are residential. I do a majority of custom homes as well as remodels and additions. I focus on designing the home to the client, site and environment. Where I have shown the greatest success is designing vacation/ resort homes. My vacation homes showcase well my design philosophies. I like these homes because they are typically smaller homes and they have a lot of challenges to meet. I often bring in a different thought process to the complex homes. For instance in the mountains of Colorado, I often design the home with the living area; which is located on the main floor in a typical home, on the upper level of the home. This allows the owner to enjoy the most beautiful views of the surrounding mountain ranges while relaxing after a day of skiing or hiking. Secondary bedrooms are located on the lower floor along with a playroom. This allows the younger generation to have their own entertainment while the adults can entertain on the upper level. This concept has been very successful. My home owners constantly invite me to stay at their homes and tell me stories of how they enjoy their home.
