Latest Review: Travis is awesome. Although we've only been working out for a short time, I've been impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to this work. And what I mean by "this work" is the type of training that I assumed most trainers dreaded, working with someone like me, an out of shape middle aged woman who will never be an elite athlete. But Travis really excels and is passionate about just that, helping people live healthier, fuller lives by getting fit. We work on core strength, coordination, flexibility, and proper form to insure problem areas are addressed first. I can tell by the way Travis talks about different aspects of the way the body works that he knows his stuff and has a passion for leaning more. He's been easy to work with, he can tell when to push me, when to allow me to push myself and when it's time to move to something different. Our workouts vary from day to day as he watches how my body responds to exercises and he adjusts according to what is needed. After just a few weeks, I already feel stronger, more balanced, and just better overall. In addition to being a terrific trainer, Travis is just a great human being. He's authentic, he cares about people, and he's a devoted family man. It's very easy to trust him knowing what a quality guy he is. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish with him training me.

Latest Review: I sought out personal training on the recommendation of my physical therapist. The goal was to continue strengthening exercises to improve the condition of my injured ankle and problematic knees. I have to admit, I was terrified to start working with a personal trainer... I was obese, out of shape, and feared that I would be judged. Then I stumbled across Corey at Thrive Body Balance and realized I had nothing to fear. He was very welcoming and willing to work with me unconditionally and without judgment. I've been working out with Corey weekly for nearly 6 months now. I feel so much stronger, and that has helped me both physically and in terms of my confidence. I also feel like I'm taking great strides towards lifelong health, as Corey works with me on "corrective" exercises to improve the alignment and balance of my body. I would most definitely recommend Corey to anyone and everyone. He is extremely knowledgeable, understanding, flexible, patient, wise, and truly just a joy to spend time with. After all this time, I still look forward to my weekly personal training sessions. They have been worth every penny, and I feel very lucky to have found a trainer like Corey.

Latest Review: 243. The number flashed on the scale, staring me right in my bewildered face. I stepped off the scale, tapped it with my big toe, and stepped back on. 243. I stepped off the scale and shook my head in bewilderment. How did I let this happen? How did I slip this far? I had thought my face looked round mere moments ago in that family photo, but 243…this was a disaster. A disclaimer… I have struggled with my weight and body image my entire life. I am not, nor was I ever, the most athletic individual. I swam competitively for a number of years, and I took a number of dance classes in college, but athletic is an adjective I would never use to describe my physical ability. Back to 243... From that moment on, I made myself a promise. I would change. I would take my insecurities and confront them head on. I would become athletic. Bolstered by this determination, I began the tedious process of vetting a gym. At the time, I was working downtown at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, so finding a gym close to work was crucial. After some preliminary online research, I grabbed my co-worker for moral support and trekked down the block to Gold’s Gym. Shannon, my fearless cohort, was already a member of Gold’s Gym and urged me to join after our tour of this gleaming tower of physical perfection. Needless to say, I signed on the dotted line. I was a member of a gym. It was time to shed the pounds and increase my self-determined self-worth. I adopted a new mantra: Your dreams only work if you do. The next day I had scheduled my free fitness assessment with someone named Brittany. I arrived, changed into my workout clothes, and checked in at the front desk, nervous, anxious, and ready to run out the door. Seconds later, I was greeted by a girl in a red trainer’s t-shirt with her name printed across her heart and black workout shorts. She stuck out her hand, shook mine, and took me upstairs to take my measurements and learn more about my fitness and personal goals. Little did I know that this fitness assessment would be more than just assessing my then lack of physicality. It would be the foundation and formation of a friendship and mutual support system. We clicked instantly. Brittany possessed the right amount of sass and drive to whip me into shape and encourage me every step of the way. Immediately after the assessment I signed up for three months of personal training, twice a week with Brittany. Fast-forward nine months later. I was strong. I was confident. I was athletic. Brittany had completely changed my life for the best. I was at my gym 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day before and after work, taking boot camp classes, swimming, lifting, and doing yoga. Brittany had taught me that physical fitness was more than just lifting weights, it was nutrition, it was mental health, it was finding an inner balance. She taught me that fitness is a journey, with twists and turns along the way. That we have good days and bad, and we can assess each as it comes and not stray from the goals ahead. She helped me realize my potential and pushed me to meet it. The moment I met Brittany my life changed. Through her friendship, she helped me discover that I could do anything I set my mind to. Your dreams only work if you do, so it’s time to keep working.

Latest Review: I have had a great experience working with Murillo. I initially sought physical training to help me with core strength, balance, and mobility. He took the time at the outset of our sessions to really listen to my goals and to carefully assess my starting level. He has created several workout routines for me that are specially designed to challenge me. I am already seeing great results in the areas I set out to work on, and I have improved ability to do the exercises he has set out. Murillo also has a great personality. He is energetic, encouraging, and he pushes you just enough so that you are constantly improving. I am glad I chose to work with him, and I highly recommend him.

Latest Review: Ethan is a phenomenal trainer. He can distinguish between when I'm making excuses or delaying the next movement vs actually having difficulty with the weight, speed, or technique. My original motive to hire a trainer was to have a smaller waist, bigger hips, and stronger toner arms as a female. Over the course of our sessions, my motivation has shifted to being able to add more weight to my exercises and making sure I have perfect form without dropping when I'm feeling fatigue. I can run through the exercises faster and he has to correct my form less and less (it's becoming a natural reflex to have good form). In the beginning, I would get anxious as I would see someone he was training 10 minutes before my session while I got ready and the person was panting, red, and sweating and knowing I was going to be that in a few moments was a little terrifying. However, right before each session began his light, approachable, humorous personality made it seem less nerve racking then I perceived it to be. At the end of the session, my endorphins are elevated and I'm wanting more. Remember "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion." It's really worth the investment to have him push you a few times a week (at least in the beginning) so you can make it a habit with correct form and an internal motivation to do so. Investing in your health, in your body's ability to feel young by exercising is worth the investment and Ethan is in my honest opinion the best guy to get the ball rolling.
