Glenn came in to fix a botched tile job. Was quick, friendly, professional, and took time to explain how to approach tiling projects more efficiently and cost effectively next time. Will definitely hire again!
I was able to make an appt within 2 days of my request for work. Zeev showed up on time and completed the work in a timely fashion, which included him taking a trip to the local Home Depot for materials. He repaired a leak/burst pipe above the garage ceiling and fixed my front yard faucet(handle broken off). The total cost for the repairs was more than reasonable, under $200. I would hire again.
Stacey was great, showed up within an hour of our call. He installed a coax cable into a room in our house without a hitch. Very professional and upfront with any costs.
My experience with John, and A&C Innovative Contractors, was easy and very satisfying. He was easy to reach by phone and returned all my calls in a reasonable amount of time. He started the job when promised. His ideas on the fence design were helpful and looked very, very good. Many people in the dance club, where he built the fence, have mentioned how much they like it. And, finally, his prices were very fair and he got the cost estimates to me very quickly. I would use him again. Steven B.
Tim is great. He got back to me quickly and was able to patch our drywall and texture and paint within a day. The materials required the cost of the work to raise from his initial quote but he was transparent and professional the whole time. I would hire him again.
Harvey and his team built two retaining walls for me in a new house construction project. After 2 years the wall remains straight and super tight. Harvey's success, I believe, is due to the the extraordinary care he took on first course at the bottom of the wall in addition to compaction of the foundation gravel. Before hiring Harvey, I built a separate wall myself that is embarrassing in comparison. I am hoping to hire Harvey again. Besides being a wonderful builder, Harvey is person I really enjoyed working with.
His company did a beautiful job trimming my very tall hedges. There is a kind live voice answering the phone if you have questions, on time for the appointment for my estimate, job done in days after a signed proposal was submitted and what a nice cheerful company. Typically, it is like pulling teeth to get someone to do a job as this - they all want a signed 12 month contract for yard maintenance. I recommend all try this company, avoid the frustration I have gone through in the past if you have a single or one time yard or landscape need.
This review has been a long time coming. My wife and I bought a dump and slowly remodeled it over a few years. Then, I found out I got my dream job in Austin TX, and we had to sell our house FAST. Only one tiny problem - it wasn't finished! That's where Eric with Fresh Painting and Remodeling came in. Eric gave me a very reasonable estimate for installation/painting of baseboards throughout the entire house and installation/painting of a few interior doors. I'm far too exhausted to post pics, but suffice it to say the baseboards looked fantastic. Our house had 5 offers, all above asking price, within 60 hours of going on the market. I would say others thought Eric's work was good to say the least. In addition to fantastic finish carpentry work at a very reasonable price, Eric was especially courteous considering our 2 month old baby. Several times he went out of his way to help. For example, he completely finished the baseboards in our master bedroom first so that we would have a place to let our baby sleep. At one point, he even took 3 trips to the garage to recharge his air compressor just so that he wouldn't wake up the baby. I can only hope I find a contractor in TX that I trust this much to do good work at a reasonable price!
Lino did an excellent job of cleaning up and preparing my rental house for occupancy after it was vacated without being properly cleaned or cared for. He did major cleaning in the kitchen, painting and wall touch-up in the living room, minor cupboard and storm window repair; and cleaning of gutters and debris left behind by previous tenants. He came to the job exactly at the time promised, worked diligently, and completed the work on time. He asked me about a couple of things I had overlooked--and agreed to take care of them. I was completely satisfied with the quality, time required, and cost of the work Lino completed. I will definitely use him again and have no reservations in commending him for the good work he did on my house.
Best price out of four local contractors who submitted estimates, efficient crew, and appreciated ethics. Makaia was the only one of the four who recommended support rebar in our exposed aggregate patio extension and included it in his estimate. We chose his company for the job and are glad we did.
I had gutter covers installed. Victor and his team were really friendly, the cost was very reasonable and the quality of the work is excellent. I will use this company again
Paul initially helped me with a large renovation project with a property left very distressed by bad tenants. He was fast, resourceful, creative and efficient and the cost was extremely reasonable. He now helps me with ongoing maintenance of the property and it's always smooth. I'd recommend his work and character to anyone.
The contractor did not have a portfolio of past similar projects nor did he provide references I could contact. We finally came to an agreement as to how he would build my fence. His company contract was rather vague so I wrote out a more detailed one that he and I signed. It listed the specific points about the project that I felt were important, i.e. type of wood to use, heights, design, cleanup, etc. The contractor and crew were very cooperative during the construction. Whenever there were questions about how I wanted things to be done, we referred to my contract. I needed to leave town on the last day of their work. Since the work had gone well up to that point, I paid the contractor off and left him to finish up his work. When I returned a week later I was surprised to see that several of the details noted in my contract had not been completed. It has been three weeks since then and he has not returned to complete the small details nor to do a final review of his project. I can only guess that he felt rushed to complete my project and has been too busy to follow up. I will complete the final detail work myself. I have noticed that some of the fence wood has loosened up due to inadequate nailing. This was obviously done to reduce construction expense on the contractor's end. I have gone back and reinforced the wood with heavier screws. The fence is sturdier now. I would rate this contractor as a "good" builder, just not a "master" builder, due to the lack of detail work and lack of followup on the contract.
Joe De Marco landed in my life via Thumbtack, and what an amazing stroke of luck that was! I’d been debating making an offer on a house for sale, but it was going to need extensive remodeling before I could move in. And without knowing what was possible, or what the renovations might cost, I wasn’t sure what to offer on the house itself or if I could even afford everything I had in mind. Though I’ve owned two, I really know almost *nothing* about houses--and less about the actual work that contractors do. I was an easy mark, in other words, and Joe could have taken me right to the cleaners! Instead, at a time when other local contractors can’t even be bothered to answer their phone, Joe De Marco got back to me right away, spent 90 minutes at the house with me explaining every single detail, and had an estimate for me within 24 hours! And I didn’t even own the house, which means Joe did all that work pro bono. He came up with creative and affordable solutions to every problem I threw his way, and taught me an awful lot in the process. Ultimately, I decided not to buy the house, in large part because of what I learned through Joe. He could have lied to me and taken my life’s savings, and I’d have been none the wiser. But instead, he was honest and patient and down-to-earth, the kind of guy I know I can *trust*. And when I do find the right house, you can bet that Joe will be the first person--the only person--I call to help me with whatever work it might need. Diana Schutz Portland, Oregon
My experience with JDR Builders, John Rank specifically, was outstanding. The project was a complete renovation of a dilapidated dry cleaning building into a state compliant OMMD facility. The project was roughly 3 months long, and required tight timeline management both for cost reasons and filing deadlines for the state certification. John's construction experience, and project management experience set him apart from most of the contractors we have worked with in the past. His initial proposal was well thought out. We agreed on a realistic budget. He managed to that budget, and submitted 1 change request for the entire project. He managed the inspectors and the permitting, which was an area of real concern, as the building was old, and the city was waiting for someone to renovate it. His commercial experience really came through during this phase; the city had numerous issues regarding the antiquated electric. At one point we were in jeopardy of being able to even receive power from the street. He was available when I needed questions answered, and he never tried to confuse the issues with technical details. In short he was good to his word start to finish. The quality of work was top notch, with a great deal of finishing work done at his expense. He recognized obvious gaps in our planning, raised the issues to us, and then took action based on our feedback. What went wrong with the project? Nothing. As issues came up, there was always a plan for resolving them, always options for maintaining the budget. I have personally been involved with a dozen projects of this scope and size, and have suffered through all forms of contractor short comings, and bad circumstances. Contractors who are great at construction, but terrible at managing a timeline or budget, or great at managing the budget, but at the expense of a useful product. This was simply a clinic on how to run and delivery a project. Thank you to JDR Builders for your hard work and know how.
I have worked with Max on several construction projects, including siding, decks, and painting, and he has always done a great job at a fair price. I would recommend MJK Construction for any repair or new construction project you have.
Jonathon is a very hard working and professional. He did a kitchen tile project for me and it turned out spectacular! Jonathon is a guy that does what he says he will do and more. I would highly recommend him for his attention to detail and job commitment.
It was a great working with them fast fair and efficient ,We will use them again As we are building a new restaurant in Woodburn
Zach was quick to respond to my request for information. Gave me an estimate when i gave him pictures, and then quickly came to the job site to solidify the bid, only to realize it wouldn't cost quite as much and he lowered the cost to reflect it. Did work precisely when promised and cleaned up well afterwards. Not only am I glad we hired Even Grade, I am keeping the number in my phone to call directly next time. I highly recommend.
Starting out with the basics they showed up on time, did what I asked them and cleaned up afterwards. These are important aspects of a job that makes it much more pleasant. In addition, I needed them to build a cat ramp and they did a great job at designing and building a sturdy ramp that should last for years. I was happy with their work and I would recommend them.
Sector 5 Pro did a great job raising up and stabilizing the sinking end of our 107 y/o home's enclosed back porch. It only took them two half-days to complete, the cost was reasonable, they answered my questions professionally, and the crew was nice and didn't leave any trash or debris around. The porch looks great, is back to its intended form, and it's not sinking anymore I'd hire them again certainly.
