FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into catering by accident. After some upheaval in my personal life, I found myself at a crossroads and in need of quick money. This being Portland, and catering being an industry in constant need of flexible employees, I took a friends offer for part time work. After completing a 9 hour day at my full time job, completely drained and exhausted, I would change my clothes and make my way to this second job. And rather than continuing to be exhausted, I found myself almost instantly transformed to a fresh faced, enthusiastic server. I loved it. There is nothing like having your "office" be a daily party. While I spend a lot more time in the office now, and less time servicing events, I still love the process of collaborating with clients to help them make their event the best it can be.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Corporate events, buffets, boxed breakfasts, lunches and dessert trays. Off site wedding receptions, graduations, dinner parties, cocktail parties, grand openings, and other celebrations.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a caterer with an extensive background in foodservice and event planning. A good caterer will adhere strictly within your budget and have a competent staff at the ready in addition to assisting you in planning and preparing for your event, asking the kinds of questions you may have thought of. Be sure to look for a caterer with the ability to provide a variety of tools, equipment and transportation options to fulfill your expectations.
