Being a graphic designer I often have need for creating custom graphics or illustrations. Although I can create some of them on my own, I often to turn to Karyn instead. She takes direction well, and is able to provide me with a quality product that enables me to spend more time designing. Karyn is awesome to work with! She is super creative, professional and does excellent quality. I worked with her on a intensive sublimated print project and she created beautiful artwork and high quality design packages. She is very hard working but she also very fun to work with. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I price by the hour and since I have been working as a freelancer for 16 years I am an expert at budgeting my time. My clients have a hard bid to which I have never gone over.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally will either meet my new clients at a mutual location or via the phone. We discuss the project and decide on the goals. After the initial meeting I will write up a quote and bid on the actual project outlining the project as I understand it. After we agree upon the terms I generate comps followed by final art. The steps in between comp and final art include opportunities for the client to revise so that we create the best piece of work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the Pacific NorthWest College of Art to study Illustration and Graphic Design. I also worked for many years as an Art Director and Designer in agencies.
