FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Although many designers charge on an hourly basis, the majority of my clients are on a fee based pricing. this allows the client know exactly what I'm costing from the beginning of the job, rather than receiving multiple bills for hourly services. I feel that my clients feel more relaxed with this model, allowing them the freedom to experience the process with the designer and not worry about running up the clock.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a college degree in the Applied Science Interior Design which gave me a solid foundation to my career. I also regularly continue my knowledge by attending CEU courses, being an active member in the Northwest Society of Interior Designers (Member since 2009 and President 2012-2013), and twice a year going to the International Furniture Market to keep up to date with where my industry is at and where it is heading.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Really be prepared to share as much as you can about your life with your designer. Your designer in turn should take that information and turn it into functional design that is aesthetically pleasing to you.
