Awesome first experience!! Really looking forward to working with you!Oct 4, 2017Verified
I have been taking singing lessons with Alisdair and he is great! I've made significant progress in my singing, and his teaching technique is extremely effective, and is different to other vocal coaching I've received in the past. He is reliable, on-time, and was willing to start lessons right away.Oct 7, 2016Verified
Totally focused on what's best for the individual and didn't shove me in a box. Made the experience great!Sep 19, 2016Verified

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Oh yes. Im constantly studying. Anything from 17th century figured bass to new methods of side-chaining in electronica. And I constantly watch out for the newest gear, seeing if anything fits into my philosophy of combining simple tools of the absolute highest quality.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was working in TV commercials, making music for big brands like Wendys, MTV, VH1. I decided I wanted to record independent artists and figure out a way to survive doing it. Luckily in Portland theres a community of artists who really appreciate my skill set and want to keep me around. Its great.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Vocal production is a big part of my work, and I also do a lot of instrumental recording, composition for albums, mixing, mastering, consulting. I teach vocalists singing as well - some of them like to get a few months of foundational training before going to the recording stage. It's always something new, whether in folk, world, hip hop, or rock, I am booked on either short or long sessions pretty much every single day.
