Introduction: The thing that I like best about being a Professional Organizer is helping people. I enjoy helping a client transition from being overwhelmed to a place where they can feel more relaxed and in control of their life. Sometimes the steps are small, but they often make a huge difference. I once worked with a gal who loved to play music but her music room was so cluttered she couldn't access her electronic keyboard. After working together for one day and completely organizing her space she called me the next day and said that it was the first time that she was able to play music in years. She was in tears and so happy. It felt great to know that I was able to help her play music again. It was a wonderful feeling.

Jill's organizing talents are simply amazing. I moved to Portland recently and had too much stuff for the smaller space I moved into. I am also chronically disorganized. The first thing she did was organize my kitchen; I was able to get rid of an extra storage shelving unit in the dining room just by Jill's efficient use of existing cabinet space. And it looked great, too! She then worked a miracle with my shoes, identifying that by adding two shelves to my closet, I could fit all my shoes in. She also helped me to organize my extra things into a storage unit. Not to mention files. She is creative and has great design ideas; she works fast; and finally, she is really fun to work with, and I don't feel judged regarding my messiness. Well, and she likes my dog. I've worked with Jill Viglione for several years. She's truly versatile in the kinds of organizational issues she works with. Over the years she's helped with taxes, prepared my house for sale, organized all the rooms in my new home, and helped choose furniture and home products that work in my small condo. My house sold in 24 hours and would not have without Jill's help. Jill is especially talented working with those who are spatially impaired (like me) and with ADHD. Rather than imposing a standard organizational system, Jill identified my strengths and developed a system that works for me. I can now find my clothes, paperwork, kitchen supplies. I'm a knitter and have considerable yarn. Jill figured out a way to sort yarn so it is accessible. Some people may have no trouble with finding things but I used to spend hours looking for a specific item. I work with Jill regularly and she helps keep me on task. The most important aspect of Jill's work is that she loves my dog even though she is often beaten up by my girl's violent tail.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on an hourly basis with a 3 hour minimum within 30 minutes of SE Portland and 4 hour minimum outside of that radius. If you live outside of the Portland Metro Area such as the Oregon Coast, I can customize a quote for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) from the National Association for Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO) and also hold two NAPO Specialty Certificates in Residential Organizing and Workplace Productivity.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Most Professional Organizers will tell you that have been organizing for most of their lives which is true for me as well. I have always been organized except for those few years as a teenager when my mother actually bought me a coat rack for all the clothes on my floor! I started organizing friend's closets and kitchens and then had the opportunity to work with someone when I lived in San Francisco who was completely overwhelmed and wanted to pay me for my services. That initial job lead me to NAPO - the National Association of Professional Organizers, an organization which promotes awareness of the organizing industry. I am currently a NAPO member as well as a member of Oregon's local chapter, NAPO Oregon.
