As an adult looking for beginner lessons I was a bit nervous at first but I'm very happy that I found Shannon. He is easy to work with and keeps my lessons interesting so that I'm continuously progressing. He's very versatile in his style and I believe I'm learning more from him because he is a working professional musician. If you are looking for piano lessons I highly recommend checking him out!Aug 1, 2018Verified
My son is learning so much more than the basics of piano from Shannon and developing the love of music and creativity besides just playing notes. He's 8 and just starting lessons.Jan 8, 2018Verified
Shannon is a talented musician who finds creative and interesting ways to teach me the piano. I look forward to my lessons - even when I haven't practiced.Oct 24, 2018
Shannon at Hobbit Music Studio did a great job with communication if lesson times needed to be adjusted, he wrote custom piano lesson plans based on my son's ability and interests, and was good at keeping my easily distractable son focused. Highly recommend him!Aug 3, 2018
Shannon is a gifted teacher and one of the best live piano players I've seen. His unique talent for channeling the artistry of his performance and applying it to teaching sets him apart. His lessons are tailored to each student, and careful practice brings measured progress each week. With Shannon, students can play piano and have a good time as a new world of music opens before them.Aug 2, 2018

Every student gets a free 45-60 minute lesson, assessment, and consultation before enrolling in the academy for the semester. Our instructors will introduce new students to our methods, custom curriculum approach, policies, discuss the student's goals, and make recommendations. We want students to feel confident that one of our instructors is the best fit to both teach them and help them meet their goals as a student and musician. Our teachers do not overbook ourselves. We keep a waiting list. We are looking for students who are a good fit to learn from one of our instructors and who are also interested in participating in our community performance program. After working with the student for about 30 minutes our instructors spend the last 15 minutes discussing enrollment and showing students how we use TeacherZone.com as a convenient scheduling, learning, and billing platform. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We offer a free 45-60 minute enrollment lesson, consultation, and assessment. We want to be confident our instructor is both a good fit to teach the student, and that the student is a good fit for our studio and performance program. The student should feel comfortable with their teacher's personality and talent level. We ask a lot of questions to best understand why each student wants lessons and what the end goals are for them, so we can tailor a teaching plan specific to their learning style and goals as a musician. After the free lesson and consultation, students ready to enroll choose a lesson length, time slot, and tuition package. They leave the free introductory lesson with exercises to begin practicing.
