We hired an architect who drew us a plan that didn't fit in our property. It was for a 2 car garage with an apartment on the second level. It had to match our 1890 victorian. We contacted DM to see if they could help us. they figured how to make it work out by working closely with the city and a civil engineer. They were professional, never late, always in constant contact with us throughout on a daily basis. They were able to finish the project faster than what we expected. They were able to exceed our needs and expectations. If you are looking for a one stop company that is on time and professional we reccomend De Marco Builders Inc.
We hired Nathaniel Rotta with West Coast Design and Graphics to draw up remodel plans for our home. He came out right away to get the information to do the bid. His prices were extremely reasonable and very competitive! Nathaniel's work and communication was exceptional. He had our plans drawn quickly and professionally. We would recommend him to anyone who needs an architect and will definitely hire him again!
As an estimator/project manager for a larger contractor in this region. I have worked with David and Brittell Achitecture over the last several years. Together we have completed several complete buildings as well as numerous tennant improvement projects. David has never failed to be responsive to our needs as well as,the needs of our clients. As new work arises Brittell architecture will be our architect of choice.
Andrew Feldon was the architect or designer for the residential remodel of our kitchen and garage-turned-studio project. Andrew is truly outstanding. He helped us, not only with the design and the choice of a wonderful contractor, but in overseeing the project right through to the end. Andrew's fees are not exorbitant, and I feel it was money well spent to have a beautiful design and a trusted manager. He guided us patiently through the design process, and was never intrusive. He has a wealth of creative ideas; he is well informed in all aspects of his field, easy to work with, very professional and knowledgeable. Andrew helped us to find quality materials and beauty for our project and stay within our budget. The end result was a beautiful kitchen and studio with many thoughtfully placed and beautiful windows that bring so much light from the outside, inside. The new parts of our home blend flawlessly with the older parts. We are so happy with the new kitchen and studio, and we would not hesitate to hire Andrew Feldon again for another project.
We have wanted a covered entrance to our house for years. We called the builders we trust most: Built in Oregon. They found an architect who specializes in houses built around 1940 and she designed an addition that looks original to the house. The original plans called for a wooden, painted hand-rail down the front steps. We wanted a cedar railing. Andrew and his team built it custom on site; it is period-true. It is absolutely gorgeous. People walk by our house now and stop to comment on its beauty. What I love about Built in Oregon is how well they communicate and how fair they are. They respect my budget and do hand-crafted, superior work. They are respectful of my property and clean the work site every day. I have nothing but the highest praise for them and will look to them any time to do work on our house.
I have partnered with Tripp Royce on numerous different projects over the past 23 years including remodels, a restaurant, a classroom facility, multiple kitchen labs, and a full-blown 11,000 square-foot culinary school. Tripp is the rare architect who combines creativity with practicality and actually listens to his clients. For projects large or small, if you want to be on time, on budget, and happy with the result, Tripp is the man. Eric Stromquist President Oregon Culinary Institute
Bruce Sternberg designed and served as general contractor for two major projects for us: a complete renovation of the second floor of our house and the design and construction of an art studio building on our property. The second floor of our 1912 bungalow was dark and had much unusable space and no closets. Bruce's design opened up the space to include two good size bedrooms, huge closets, and larger completely renovated bathroom. He also added windows and skylights. The space is now bright, functional, and truly beautiful. The studio is a freestanding building designed to capture the light and provide all that is necessary for the large paintings and mixed media pieces my husband does. The studio has electricity, heating and plumbing, and Bruce designed it so that it could be converted to other uses (such as a guest house) in the future. When we originally met with Bruce, we had only vague ideas about what we wanted -- more space, more light, and more of "us" in the house. Similarly, my husband just knew he wanted a space to paint and display/store completed artwork. Bruce spent a lot of time with us to understand our sense of esthetic and how we would use the spaces. He also looked a lot at the exterior of our house and was committed to making the interior beautiful and functional while also respecting and enhancing the integrity of the exterior. We had met with other architects but none "got us" like Bruce did or offered such a beautiful, comprehensive plan. We also really appreciated the fact that Bruce would also serve as general contractor and would be on site throughout the construction. Like all projects, this took a bit longer than we would have liked and there were a few hitches along the way as would be expected in an older home like ours. However, that was all forgotten when the work was completed and exceeded our expectations. We truly couldn't be happier with how both projects turned out. A good friend of mine regular reports that she has "bathroom envy" when she visits and looks at the two skylights and beautiful wood and tile work in the bathroom Bruce designed. I get similar oohs and aahs about the two huge closets in the master bedroom. Bruce added two new windows to the second bedroom and designed lighting that makes the space perfect for a relaxing reading room, display space for more art, and a wonderful guest bedroom when family and friends visit. We are equally thrilled with the studio building. Fellow artists and clients who come to see my husband's art, always note what a wonderful space he works in. The way Bruce sited the building created different outdoor spaces for us - with a dog run on one side of the studio and the entrance to our garden on the other side.
We were looking for an architect to design our new 250 sf energy efficient backyard ADU. Our backyard is small and we wanted to locate the new adu so that it faced a small dogwood tree in the corner of the backyard. This also provided us with the needed privacy between the new adu and our home. Daniel Lajoie with Departure Architecture was great to work with. The design that we came up together located a small sleeping loft above the living spaces. Most of the windows face the dogwood and along with the overall volume created in the space, our little adu feels so much larger than it actually is. Daniel also showed us how we could design and build an extremely energy efficient adu with our given budget and helped us to hire the right contractor. For others considering projects, we would highly recommend working with Departure Architecture.
We had Richard come out for a consultation. He is very personable and knowledgeable. If or when we use an architect we will definitely use him.
Brett Schulz came up with excellent architectural design solutions with our home remodel. The project included a new kitchen, and an addition to increase the size of the master bedroom (including a porch/deck) and master bathroom. Every detail, including correct size and location of windows, light switches and fixtures, sloped deck to facilitate drainage, and an unobstructed view with the roof covering the new porch/deck was well planned. I highly recommend his services.
Hans gave us a quick reply to our request, and was prompt to provide us with a quote for architectural services that he stuck to. We met onsite to go over the project. He measured the work area, and created excellent drawings for an ADU building permit we needed to apply for; that was indeed approved. He has a professional appearance and demeanor on the job site. The conversation about what to expect and when was straight forward. It is great when experience shines through! I enjoyed dealing with this architect A-Z, and will definitely be calling him again.
