FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Beyond just capturing the wedding day, I actually work with clients during the whole planning process so they know that someone with experience has their back through this whole crazy thing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
If you go way back I started in high school as a yearbook photographer. Later, I ran the darkroom at both my colleges doing everything from mixing chemicals to educating other photography students after hours. I took every class my college offered...twice and since going into photography full time I still have a voracious appetite for building my skills and knowledge. I watch or attend workshops every month and I create at least 2 large scale personal shoots a year to push the boundaries of what I know so far. Last year I co-founded a learning network for professional photographers in Portland that meets twice a month to help other pros stay on top of their game too.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
To be utterly and totally cliche... I didn't decide. It was the inevitability after years of changing majors and indecision where the one constant in my life was the camera I always had slung over my shoulder. I fought it for so many years because it didn't seem "realistic" to be a professional photographer but when everything else fell away I was left with my camera,my passion and years of experience.
