Dog training type
I recently adopted a new dog through BAPBR. She’s a 3 year old pit that needed a new home. I have a 9 year old lab and felt it was time for him to have a friend. She’s a great dog but has an aggressive behavior towards other dogs when we’re not at home so I reached out to BAPBR for some help. I met with Charity to get started on training. After the first meeting I learned so much. She gave me information on basic training tips to help me help them, handouts and videos. I had my 2nd appointment and am happy to say I highly recommend Charity@Simonshope.org.Aug 21, 2019Simon's Hope's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We offer sliding scale pricing for low-income families and bully breeds through our UNLABELME program. We also offer 10% for Veterans with valid military ID. All fees and charges are non-refundable and non-negotiable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I know having a dog with problem behaviors can be really frustrating--I get it! We'll start off with a 30-60 minute phone consultation to ensure I've given you tools to immediately implement safety and management. Then, we'll schedule a 2-hour in-person consultation at your home. I'll observe you, the dog, and the environment. At the end of the consultation, we'll review the overall prognosis and additional steps you can take. Then, I'll head back to the office to prepare a written training plan, along with my recommended number of follow-up sessions based on your budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I'm a graduate of the NW School for Canine Studies--a 100% in-person state-approved education program for dog trainers. I am a fear-free certified professional dog trainer, and I choose to specialize in aggressive dog behavior modification. I have extensive professional training and mentoring in aggressive behaviors; all using fear-free, humane, and ethical methods to changing not only the behavior, but the emotional responses behind the behavior.
