Introduction: I think the main difference between me and other guitar teachers is my intense determination to become a better musician myself. Now more than ever I am practicing intensely to move up the ladder in the guitar and music world. I am an active performer, and deliver a style and level of guitar playing that is not typical to this town. The world needs as many quality musicians as possible. Helping students develop their abilities is a very positive contribution to our society. My 10 year old son has been very interested in getting guitar lessons for about a year now, so I finally decided to do some research to find the best music school in the area. I asked some of his classmates for recommendations, and a few mentioned taking their children for lessons a Northwest School of Music, an that they really liked the instructors there. I read some reviews and went to visit one afternoon before my son got out of school. I spoke with Manny Martinez, the instructor who does the guitar lessons, and I could tell that he loves what he does. He has lots of experience and fantastic credentials and just seemed like a great teacher to learn from. My son has been going to him since January now. My son has been having a great time and has a real enthusiasm for it. Manny has done a great job in helping him to advance and develop his skills, and my son has been keeping up his end of the bargain (practice!) due in part to his instructors focus on making it really enjoyable. It's great to see my son devoting time to practicing because he loves impressing his instructor with his progress. Overall, I'm very happy I chose to sign my son up for lessons at the Northwest School of Music. The staff are fantastic, and they really motivate and encourage students. My daughter is interested in learning guitar as well now that her brother is having so much fun with it, and I'll be signing her up in the fall. The lessons are priced well, and the quality of instruction my child receives is worth every penny.

I have taken lessons with guitar instructor Manny Martinez. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and very encouraging. He makes learning fun. Northwest School of Music is great!

I was given a gift certificate by my girlfriend for guitar lessons with Manny, and after 5 lessons I was able to play (and sing) a particular song that I wanted to learn so that I could serenade my girlfriend, and then propose to her. Thanks to Manny's style of teaching and his awareness of my learning style, it was a wonderful experience! Also, Manny is truly an amazing guitarist, and has the depth of experience to advance beginning guitarists, as well as those of you who are much further along than that. I am continuing with my lessons, and I HIGHLY recommend Manny to anyone looking to learn the guitar!

Manny is s refreshingly clear and talented music teacher. He can teach the basics all the way to the most advanced jazz theory- and then can back it all up with some amazing chops. He's a Berklee School of Music graduate, and it shows:)
