I am the owner of a very skittish dog, Wicket. In the past I have always had my parents watch her while we were away, she is very familiar with them and their home. Unfortunately they moved and we had a 1 wk trip out of town this summer. We had no idea what to do. Last time she was kenneled in a time of desperation, the kennel tried hard to make her comfortable, but she was miserable the entire time and barely ate. Another time, we had a friend come and stop by a few times a day and she sat in a corner and growled for awhile before she would eventually skulk by and go to the bathroom, and again she barely ate. Then...... we found Traci. Wicket took to her right away. She had amazing treats and a very non threatening personality to the point that she only barked once and then she walked off with Traci a few minutes later. Traci helped us work with our vet to get our dog on an anti anxiety medication for when we were away. While we were away she came and greeted Traci every time she visited without growling, and the proof of it all was that Wicket ate her food thanks to a few tricks up Traci's sleeves. I have to admit that wicket seemed depressed when she didn't get to see Traci every day after our return. I can't express enough how wonderful she was and how much individual love and attention she offers to the animals she is entrusted with.

Traci has been our pet sitter now for about 10 years or so. She is such a reilable person. I know that my animals will receive the care and attention that they need and are use to. Traci has a very level head on her shoulders and just seems to know what the animals are needing. I trust her to do what needs to be done. My animals always seem to have "smiles" on their faces when we return from vacations. I plan on Traci taking care of my furkids for a long time.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
After spending some time working in a "wharehouse" kennel setting I realized my love of animals could be put to better use. I enjoy caring for pets in a home setting because that is where they are happy, after all... They are pets!
