FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
American Heart Association has excellent web sites to go to for information, and I am in the medical field and I pick the brains of those I work with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had an instructor that threatened me, " that if I took my hands off the mannequin one more time, she would fail me". I thought to myself I can sure as hell teach better than you can....went and talked to my education CEO at the hospital , and asked her if she would endorse me to go for CPR instructor, she said yes, and consequently over the next couple of years I became Instructor/Trainer over the hospital. I have been doing this for 22 years.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do they listen to what you are saying your needs are and are they able to adapt to you to make a comfortable fit? Look at the time they have been in business, and do they have references. Will they give you time and prices right up front or do they hedge around about it? In other words, ask alot of questions, and don't be shy about it. Talk to references and ask how the class went. How did they teach? Did they teach with fear tactics? Were they patient when alot of questions were asked of them?
