Jason Trammell is a very good personal trainer. I am 59 years old and have Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy. When I went on Thumbtack to find a trainer (I did say I had Cerebral Palsy), Jason was the only one to reply. Most personal trainers would not know how to work with me, but Jason stepped up to the challenge. I have been work with Jason for over 6 months. Once I talked with him about how my disability affected my muscle movements and balance, he figured out the best way in which to work with me. That said, He doesnt treat me with kid gloves, instead he pushes me to my limit and sometimes beyond. When I feel like cant do something, he gets me to try and usually he is right. This technique helps by reducing my limits and building my strength. I do need to say that I always feel safe that I will not fall or get hurt, because Jason is always close by to make sure that doesnt happen! Most people hire trainers for weight loss. I was 10 pounds underweight. Jason made up a food schedule for me and is constantly bugging me about eating more, now Im only 5 pounds underweight. Strength training is so very important for people, especially woman, over 45 whether or not you have a disability. Working out with Jason will keep me from needing to use a wheelchair or scooter for many years to come, as well as keep me independent in my own home and doing all the regular things everyone else can do. Finally, Jasons prices are very reasonable. if you look up the cost of joining a gym and having a personal trainer 3-times a week, you will probably be paying twice as much! I met Jae at a 24 hr Fitness Club where I was inquiring about personal training to re-frame health and weight loss goals. Jae spoke to me with focused empathy, patience and a level of respect deeper than I have ever found in the yoga or fitness industry. He took little time in acquiring a great deal of detail about what could make me happy- details he uses to create a fitness plan with the utmost care and wisdom. Jae is intelligent and well-versed in how to look amazing physically but he chooses spiritually-based creativity to make you whole again. I have trained with experts all over the United States but Jae is the only professional with whom I trust completely as both Mentor and Trainer.
Fredy is fantastic. I dropped from 210 to 160 with his help, but the weight loss was secondary to the strength and confidence our work gave me. I was a mostly-newbie to fitness when I began and he took the time to do things right, explain what we were doing and why (even down to the details of "these specific tiny muscles are causing problems, here's what to do between sessions to fix it") and also generally made me more comfortable than I ever expected to be.
It was great working with Travis. He is a very detail oriented trainer who cares about helping you get the results you want and will push you to your limit to help you get there. He knows that you need a well rounded workout routine to reach your goals, and makes sure to switch it up not only to work each muscle group and continue from hitting a plateau in your weight loss goals, but so that you don't get bored! The only issue I had working with Travis, was that after months of working towards my goals, I began to lose some motivation, and stopped making as much success. I felt that Travis could have given me some baby step smaller goals to help me get back to where I needed to be to have success, but each session we would work out, and I would go home, feeling good about the workout, but knowing I wasn't fully committed anymore. Maybe Travis could, in the future, help set smaller goals with his clients if they begin to lose motivation, even if that means giving "homework" and consistently checking in each session. Overall, I am very happy I worked with Travis, and feel that my time with him has drastically changed not only my body and my weight loss, but my entire way of thinking about health, diet, and exercise. It's truly a lifestyle choice to work out and eat right and be a healthier you, and it's one I am happy to take part in, thanks to Travis Baker!
I started working with Ethan in August of 2015. I was terribly unhealthy and intimidated by the start of what needed to be 100+ pounds of weight loss. What struck me immediately about Ethan was how reassuring and positive he was. I never felt judged, and was even inspired by his own tremendous weight loss and fitness journey. I knew right away he would be a great fit for my needs. We worked together a few times a week, and he guided me in terms of safe movement, nutrition, calorie goals, and fitness goals. At the end of a year of working with Ethan, I had lost more than 100lbs. At the end of two years, I was actively training for a full marathon, and was at a healthy weight for the first time in my life (160 pounds below my starting weight!). I am so grateful for Ethan's expertise and friendship. His knowledge of human movement (and insight into the impact of obesity on a body and movement) helped me to make safe and informed choices throughout my journey. I put in a lot of hard work to get where I am, but I can't let an opportunity pass me by to credit the single most positive force behind my new and improved life- Ethan! Nothing about my life isn't better for having worked with him.
Marcus' programming was very clear and specific to my abilities. I had huge improvements in my strength, mobility and fat loss. I started out with more of a bodybuilders bro split mentality, and he educated me on the need for a movement, joint by joint approach for optimizing my daily life and body. I highly recommend Marcus, as you will get an education, attention to detail, and workouts that are specific to your current training level. He has a mentality that you have to "Earn" the right to perform more challenging movements. The Fatloss was way easier then I thought it would be. There is an initial assessment period and evaluation of my current eating habits, then a diet was constructed which fit my eating lifestyle. Marcus advised to shoot for a weight-loss of roughly 1% of Bodyweight per week, and thats exactly what happened, with slightly more or less on different weeks. Again, I would recommend Marcus' fitness and nutrition programming to anyone, he is very experienced, friendly and knowledgable...and most importantly it worked and is working for me!!

I have worked with Corey for the past three months. I originally sought him out for fitness and weight loss but with the initial diagnostic tests discovered several postural issues that needed correction. I am seeing some big changes that have also been noticed by others. I am impressed with Corey's professionalism and the trainer's gym we work out in is well equipped and never crowded. Additionally, what stands out to me is the non-judgmental attitude of all the trainers and very "non-jock" atmosphere of the gym. I highly recommend Corey if you are looking for consistency and growth.
I started working with Katherine in Nov. 2011 while I was in graduate school. Katherine helped me regain so many things including confidence in myself, strength, and improved balance. After my first two years, my focus with Katherine switched from weight loss to strength training. Katherine helped me set goals that are challenging but attainable with her help. I have since regained my identity as an athlete and as a physically strong woman. I have learned so much about how to challenge myself, but I continue to work with Katherine because of her support and encouragement. I recommend Katherine with enthusiasm to my family and friends. I highly recommend hiring Chance. I was very reluctant and nervous about starting a weight loss program but he has made me feel very comfortable and has put me on a program that I can handle and understand. At the same time the first 2 weeks I have already lost 11LBS. He is straight forward and very knowledgeable. He is capable of being successful with any type of client.
Cody is a thorough trainer who works hard to insure you meet your personal goals whether they be weight loss, muscle gain, nutrition or just general fitness. In my case I've focused on all of those areas at various times with him. He has the ability to motivate with a positive attitude that encourages you to move forward in your training experience, which is extremely valuable in making sure you reach your goal and he is very knowledgeable in a number of area, allowing flexibility in training modalities (I think that's the word) and continued interest in getting/staying healthy.
So I have worked with 3 personal trainers all right after each other. Out of all 3 I felt 2 were knowledgeable about what workouts were good and would be most effective for my body. Jaylen Eason was one of those 2. However, the one thing that put him at the top of those three, was his professionalism. Smooth way of telling me what I need to eat to help the workouts and weight loss and muscle gain. He always had workouts prepared before my scheduled time. He knew what we were going to do before I arrived so it gave me every minute of my paid time to focus on the workout and not the planning. When we worked out he focused on form to ensure injury reduction and getting the most out of each workout. During my workouts he would push me with encouraging words and not be off doing something else or watching or talking to someone else in the gym like some trainers do. He was 100%focused on me, his client. When finished, he would give friendly reminders of what my homework was and parted with a smile and encouraging feedback. I left due to an injury on the job and have not been able to train since otherwise he would be the guy! Jeremy
I have been training with Jake for about 4 months. I can say he is the best trainer I've had. And I've been through a few. What I can say about Jake: I feel like he's got my back. Any trainer can push you to work hard and make you do a hard workout. What I like about Jake is that he can push me but knows when I should also pull back and rest. He is wonderful with stretches! He is also very fit and a good coach. The two qualities together make for an exceptionally effective trainer. His passion for fitness shows. Jake is also a good communicator. That doesn't mean he's always chatty or got a slick front but he's very good at reading his clients and seeks to understand and listen to you. He's a good read of people. I also don't feel judged by Jake like I have with other trainers. He's a super great guy who treated my initial difficulties working out with empathy, compassion and flexibility. With Jake, I had come back to working out again after a physical setback and had put on the most weight I'd ever gained. I am also a woman in her fifties and weight is the hardest to get off than previously for me. In three months he's helped me reduce all my measurements! And last but not least, Jake is a professional. He shows it in his voice, conversation and his attitude. Do not look any further for a trainer! Jake is the best.
I started working with John to lose fat and gain muscle. Weight loss and gaining strength was a necessary step for me to join the Marine Corps. John is awesome, fun, and he truly is dedicated to his work. His passion for helping people is clear and inspiring.
Since I began training with Samuel I have not only seen a huge difference in weight loss but also my athleticism has substantially gotten better. Being a girl I was always hesitant working out with a guy trainer but Samuel was able to customize workouts that were perfectly aligned with my body type and athletic ability. I never have to worry about getting too bulky or muscular. He in fact is making me leaner than I have ever been. He has a way of making working out fun and believe it or not I actually look forward to my workouts just to see what he has prepared for me next. I never thought I would be able to talk about working out like this but his training style is unmatched by any trainer I have ever worked with. I would recommend from anyone looking get in shape and reach their personal physical goals. I personally am planning for a wedding this year and with that in mind Samuel is helping me achieve my goals. With his training and meal plan I already see such a difference I cant wait to see what I look like at my wedding!
Constance has been my fitness coach for about 16 months now. My principle objective has been, and still is weight loss. Under her supervision and instruction I have managed to reduce from 186 lbs to 176 lbs, a plateau I am presently trying to negotiate. The benefits of her knowledge have also led to a considerable increase in my flexibility and stamina. She is very attentive to a clients abilities and incentive and adapts her well-designed exercise plans when necessary, ensuring fleeting muscle stress and slight fitness injuries do not develop into more serious conditions. She is flexible regarding scheduling and payment options. She has excellent communication skills both in session and out. She delivers what I expect from someone entrusted with the pathway to my goal.
Donna is such an immense blessing. I first began corresponding with her because she is vegan. I like that she is a work in progress and I can relate to that. I started working out with Eman in November 2014 at crunch fitness in gresham, OR. He was super awesome from the start, shortly after I started sessions with him I informed him that I was pregnant. It ended up being a perfect fit because he had just trained someone who was pregnant! So he knew how to work with me, and never pushed me too far but pushed me just enough to the point were I felt better about myself and I love to work out. He is also super knowledgable about weight loss and proper nutrition. I started working with a personal trainer because I wanted to lose weight, now I have learned how to stay active and live a healthy life style. And I have also made an amazing friend along the way. :) 5 stars for Eman!
